The only way a ford or chevy can compete with a dodge is if they take that 6.0 crap and that duramax crap out and install a cummins look at the front page a ford trying to pull a bobcat thats not competion i pull heavier than that almost daily

I have nothing against the Cummins, it's a great engine and it's strong/reliable as hell. By the way... Cummins is a Cummins not a Dodge, Dodge does not make them cummins makes em'. If Ford started putting Cummins engines in their trucks, then I'd have to get me one of them things. But as for the D-Max, that thing is a piece of crap! I had an 06' 2500 4x4 and the engine had to be replaced at 6500 miles! I can't afford to have a truck that can't take abuse. My trucks are supposed to make me money. Time in the shop = business profits lost. I got rid of that piece of dogshit a week after I got it out of the shop.

I agree i have been a chevy driver most my young life. But i started hearing these smaller trucks that sound like semi trucks. So i did more research and had to have one. Lets just sya i drive a 1995 12valve 400 horse cummins.i love it. I love the way the dodge is set up and how they feel when you drive them. even if your  DIE HARD CHEVY FAN CUMMINS HAS A LEGENDARY NAME IN THE WORLD OF DIESEL POWER!! you ca not deny that the old 5.9 liter trucks are one of a kind in sound quality and just stock horse power. duramax is a nice name to slap on the side of the truck if you want the same diesel that the fed x man has in his truck. Im just kidding but seriously if you duramax boys would rive a cummins i garantee you would never go back.

my 12 valve cumins sounds like a semi truck and has a turb o wine so loud i cant be near the tip. i think its just how you set em up. Some guys have poor taste in exhaust sound quality. i love the sound of the turbo on a good powerstroke and the bellow of a loud ass cummins. as you change gears.

You do realize that Ford and Cummins have a contract for the medium duty truck line?  Just so you know, there are Ford trucks with Cummins engines in them but they are the F-550 and higher rated trucks.

I don't think you can get a Cummins in a 550...all my F-550 buddies would have one if that was the case. I believe it's 750...You used to able to get a Cat as well.

This is for all of you Ford lovers, who like to throw around that Ford is America's best selling truck. The one key thing that you oh so smart blue oval lovers seem to forget is that GM has two trucks: the SIERRA and SILVERADO. Ford may out sale the Chevys on a one to one basis, but when you combine the sales of the GMC and CHEVY the numbers arent so good for Ford anymore. Ford may have sell an average of 60,000 more trucks than Chevy but when you add the average of 185,000 GMC pickups sold yearly, GUESS WHAT???? GM outsells the F-series by over 115,000 each year(these are three year averages from 06-07-08) I am pretty much sick of people saying that the Ford must be the best line of trucks for this simple reason, because any half way intelligent person can do simple math CHEVY+GMC>Ford. PRETTY SIMPLE HUH???

Best Selling might be in question. But ford sure is not the nations wellfare carmaker.  I have even heard that gm cars are the first that can be shut down through onstar? No Goverment motors for me ford is the last american car company and we all should show our support say no goverment motors and there japanese motor. If  this new diesel for ford works out we should be happy that we americans can still build something just my two cents!
Thanks

I knew you could get the Cummins in the F-650, and I thought it was available in the F-550 also since it's considered to be larger than ton and a quarter and therefore outside of the light duty truck realm (and contract).
