i just bought an 07 DMax with an 06 LBZ engine in it. of course to make the new emission laws it has DPF on it, so what does that mean for upgrades?  will a cat forward exhaust system be ok, and will a programmer be able to work with it?

From what I've read, you won't be able to do any exhaust upgrades except maybe an aftermarket muffler/tailpipe. They have to much computer garbage to do anything else. I'm sure someone will figure out how to bypass that stuff though. As far as a programmer, probably the same thing, someone will figure on out.

Just got my 07 Classic LBZ.
At 600  miles I'm getting 16.7 for mileage.

I'd like to do the usual mod's,
Intake, Tuner and exhaust.

What is a DPF???

Diesel particulate filter.
I'm sure you mean cat BACK exhaust ... I just installed the Banks system on my 08 and it eliminates the muffler completely; so much for droning issues. Call and ask them about your specific year/model, but mine is only slightly throatier than stock. Fits like a glove, too.

Go with MBRP or silverline and if you have an LBZ motor than you dont have a DPF.... i would know I'm a GM mechanic. Other than needpower these other guys are dill holes.

My father-in-law has an LBZ with a Bassani on it. He had an MBRP for a while, but it kept throwing codes. Hasn't had any problems with the Bassani so far.
