Is anyone experiencing shift problems under low speed low load conditions where tranny wants to upshift but then drops back down? It will do this a couple times before it selects a gear. Took it to one dealer they said it was normal.. but I say no..it wasn't always like that. Took it to another dealer, they see that there is a problem and they are trying to solve it. Any input would be appreciated!

A little more info needed to even guess. Like tire size, how much load, any mods, wide open throttle or cruising, etc.

I am having the same issue. You are not imagining things.. My truck when brand new would shutter shift under low load pressure between 1300 rpm and 1700 rpm.. The first signs of the problem were a hydralic howl from under the cab area.. now it stutters from first to second and from second to third always.. I just dropped my truck off at the dealer again (it lives there 2 solid months a year) and it had a error code of p1756 which relates to this problem.. Think about the damage 600ft lbs. of torque shuttering will do to the bottom end of the motor and all the other running gear.. I am suing Chrysler because they say they do not have a problem.. This truck is a pile of junk... I have had several other problems with the truck and I have never had such a poorly designed unreliable truck. I only have 24k miles on it, and everytime I turn the key on it breaks. Anyone who swears by a dodge obviously has never had a good truck. I have had Toyota 4 cylinder trucks that put this hunk to shame... Do not buy a Dodge.. Maybe a 6 speed.. Maybe...

yep, stick with your TOYota please.
Just because it is a Dodge doesn't mean it is perfect and faultless. It is a machine and made by man or by a robot programmed by man. Things happen. It does sound like there is a problem, you just need to get a dealership to recognize it and fix it. This is, however, certainly not a common problem that I have heard about, and I belong to a lot of diesel sites and forums.

Sounds like either a Governor Pressure sensor or the Output shaft speed sensor.

I have the same problem with my dodge.. I believe its because of the mods and the way i drive. Have been through 2 stock trannys just because i got the dealer to warranty it for me.. lol... but its just about to go out again and the repalcement hasentbeen in the truck for 4 months.. it shutters from 2nd to third and into overdrive.. and changes into overdrive at about 47 to 50 MPH.. and will not downshift and boggs down until about 40,42.. I think its time to get a full ATSbuilt TRANNY. WOOOHOOO...

it sounds like your throttle position sensor,i own a 99 and it did the same thing , i also added lucas atf treatment i wold start with cheapest diagnostic and work your way up.
99 2500 5.9 2in lift air bags,07 dodge megacab 6.7

If you want a good selection id try a parts locator. One place that can find you a good short or long block for a Audi A4 dodge transmission is TEXAS Junkyards, Junk Yards in TEXAS TX salvage recycler. They have a link somehow to multiples of thousands of recycling centers and will locate the best one for you.

plain and simple dont modify the new dodge trucks unless u hav money to throw away.also driving habbits have allot to do with the way ur truck performs.im a firm believer in that.

HI I CURRENTLY OWN 2006 2500 4WD 4 DR TRANS HUNTED FOR 1ST AND 2ND WENT TO DEALER GUESS WHAT BAD VALVE BODY AND SELINOID FIXED PROBLEM ALSO HELPED MILAGE YEP UNDERWARRENTY

have the 06 that started that way now it is slipping bad with only 43k and 80% of that is highway w/o a load running 35x 12.5 x 20 and everyone i have talked to says it will either need to be rebuilt or replaced is this true

My 06 does it mainly going into overdrive but occasionally between second and third. Had a problem with the first gear shift seloniod, replace all of them and flushed the cooler and tranny and it quit for a while but it wasn' a permanent fix...
06 2500 Big Horn Edition, K&N air filter, No Muffler, Otherwise stock for now...
