I work for an oilfield company in Oklahoma my truck that i use almost every day is a 03 Pete with C-15 Cat rated at 525hp our lightest load is about 90 thousand pounds our heaviest would be around 108 thousand pounds it hauls the heavier load more often than the lighter and pulls it fine till i hit bigger hills the mechanics at the shop don't seem to like the idea of me taking it to cat and getting more horsepower out of it does anyone have any suggestions on some power adders

Many people are happy with the Pittsburgh Power module. It has 7 steps of power, & makes it a monster!

thank you for the info i was also wondering if anyone had ever tried to stick an extra boost cooler on a engine like that or any other mods of that nature

is your c-15 an ACERT or a normal one ? from what ive heard you can go into the ECU and allow it to make more boost by adjusting the wastegate mechanically and changing the parameters in the ECU so the engine doesnt go into limp mode. ive seen boost raised to as much as 70 psi, stock i think is around 60 for ACERT's.

so what if he got pissed tell him to do it. you might have to pay a fee to caterpillar thought, atleast you do if you want a power boost and you have a cummins. they charge you like 100 bucks to up the power from like 475 hp to 525 hp or so. not sure if the same is true with the cats. btw: is it your truck ? if so then they should do it but if it is apart of a fleet then they probably wont because of insurance reasons and all that crap

well my old freind ran for a cattle company and he took it to a place and the dealership he took it to called the owner of the truck. the owner got mad. but not at my old friend he got mad at the dealership. he said whatever that man wants to do to that truck, do it. i thought that was pretty cool when he told me that story. my cat 3408 has 625hp and 2300 lbs of trq. if you get your motor up to there you will have no prblm pulling anything. i think you can slap another turbo on there if you want more power. i think but im not sure. making it a twin turbo.

putting twins on a c-15 might be risky. you would have to be careful with how much boost you run. i would look at some injectors and see what can be done in the ecu first

nope they are only for emissions. now if somebody could somehow switch them around to compounding turbos then that would be a monster of an engine. btw has anybody seen the new top line volvo engine ? 625 hp and 2250 lb ft of torque ...... not too bad
