hello all, im looking for a 3.9L 4cylinder cummins tubro diesel engine to drop into my 1979 jeep cj5. if any one has one or knows where i can get one at a reasonable price it would be greatly appreciated!

I know its a late reply but for future reference I sell remanufactured cummins engines. If you are interested in any 3.9 5.9 or 8.3L cummins as well as many of the larger engines then I can supply them.

i already got mine picked it up for under core value and it was a rebuilt motor, what a steal!!! $650 8)

Boy you did pretty darn well on that Cummins! Was it set-up with an intercooler? If not, are ya gonna? I wouldn't mind stumbling onto one of those little 3.9L's and stuffing into the full-width, solid-axle '82 S-10 I'm building.
2003 Dodge Ram 2500 Laramie 4x4. H.O. Cummins, 6spd manual trans, 4.10 gearing. Intake, Exhaust, Hot Juice, HTT HTB2 62/12/65, Jake Brake, 305-65R17 (33 x 12.50) Pro-Comp Extreme All Terrains, SBC Con O FE, Fuel Tank Vent Mod, Various other gizmos.
I-6 Cummins guys are keepin' it straight. Those other boys swing both ways.

ya you got hardcore lucky. i had that same motor take a dump in my old IH payloader. sleeves were pitted to death and the block had some cracks in it. $4500 for a reman after the core charge. what a joke. mind you that was a TOTAL rebuild new injectors, pump and all other accessories on it.
1996 Ram 2500 reg. cab longbox, #6 plate, 191 Deliver valves, 60 hp injectors, star wheel turned up a lot, AFE Stage 2 intake into a Phat Shaft 62 wastgate set at 40 psi, 4" straight pipe, Auto Meter Gauges, ATS tranny and TC (unfortunately), Dick Cepek FC-II A/T 265 LR16 (good tires). FS-2500 Bypass Filter. The only hands that work on my truck are my own.

i found a guy here in the orlando area that was getting rid of *** in hes "yard" it was out of a rear ended frito lay step van came with everything but starter, alternator, and intake crossover tube. had a 2wd sm465 hooked up to it. ill start another thread on my build with pictures(hopefully)

nope didnt come with an intercooler and nope dont plan on running one either
