ya 5" exhaust on a stock truck is big time overkill. you might tell yuor buddy to look at dptuner website he could really wake that truck up if he wanted to.

i can tell you from my experience with banks dont do it. it will be a headache and yes they are WAY overpriced. he can use the money he saves on important things like DIESEL FUEL.  the only thing i would purchase from banks is the technicooler thats it. afe intake, mbrp ex.(no cat no muffler provided yuo dont live in a state where they do emmisions checks.) dp tuner files, and his truck will be rolling

Yep. They do make good intercoolers. But their stuff is a little on the pricey side.

I put the predator in and set tow mode. went out this weekend. 28' toyhauler and two four wheeers along with 150 gal of water, etc. Before the predator, i got 7mpg with this. withthe predator, it went up to 8.5mpg. Now to do the air system. Anyway, I was impressed.

My 99 Dodge 2500 gets around 22 as a daily driver if I drive it easy.  Where I live would be considered mostly highway.  Use the cruise control alot.  My boss has an 07 Chevy 2500 LMM crew cab with a long bed and he gets like 16 towin a 6,000 pound trailer around all the time.

16 towing isn't too bad. Shoot, from what I've heard, that's better than what those new 6.4 Power Strokes are getting unloaded!

Took my truck to Florida a few weeks ago. Before we left on the trip, I did the "filler vent re-location mod" on the fuel tank, which brought my fuel capacity to just a tick under 40 gallons. (If you want to know more about this mod, click here:  http://www.innertruck.com/store-products-Longbedfueltankventkit-Long-Bed-Fuel-Tank-Vent-Kit_23095779.html

We filled up on the south side of Atlanta, GA and made it all the way to Columbus, OH before the idiot light came on. 809 miles total, including a 100 mile jaunt in 5th gear at 35mph on the Blue Ridge Parkway in North Carolina.

Took 36.7 gallons to fill 'er back to the brim. That equates to 22 MPG. May have done a bit better if not for the Blue Ridge, but that was worth it. Not too bad for an 8000 lb 4x4 with 4.10 gearing.

I just bought my first diesel. A 2008 6.4L powerstroke. So far with 8000 miles on it I get 14 mpg. I am listening to all of you from Houston,Tx. I would like to do some mild mods such as air intake, exhaust, programmer. I was leaning towards Banks but i am open to suggestions from people with experience.

there arent many mild mods for these new engines you can do an intake and dpf back exhaust some companys makes dpf deletes and programmers for the truck but from what i heard is that it will blow the motor.
