you are wrong, Ford does NOT own Cummins, Just stop into a Cummins dealership and ask the guy behind the counter how he likes working for ford motor company, he'll laugh at you!

I wish someone would mass produce a Ford with a Cummins, and an Allison behind it. Until then My 7.3 does all I need. Done all the mod's, and I will smoke (both ways)  most gaser sports cars at a light, and leave them feeling like this   . Good enough for me.

there is a good site to check out if anyone is interested its fordcummins.com they do conversions. as far as who has the power, ford knows, thats why the powerstroke isnt an option in the bigger trucks like the f650, but the 5.9 cummins is and caterpillar is. chevy knows too thats why they switch to an inline 6 for the big trucks, 6 cyl 8 main bearings is alot stronger than 8cyl and 6 main bearings. but to fords credit one of the fastest trucks out there right now is a crew cab long bed four wheel drive ford truck, drivers nickname is mad dog, (powered by a cummins)

I like the prospect of Ford/Cat.

Reply to CMNGTITwhatever that is)
First of all , congratulations on being a redneck. secondly congrats on being proud of such an ugly truck. And lastly congrats on your ignorance. There are plenty of high horsepower 6.0. If you read in the right places you would know that. Try thedieselstop. one that i can think of is unbroken's truck. 700+ RWHP. Oh ,but YOU'VE never seen one so it mustn't exist. I'm done with this thread. Glad I own the number one selling truck. Dodge isn't even second!

So there is a Ford out there pushin 700hp... Congratulations. Feel better? Hope so. Ford is number one in sales? big whoop, they are also the longest lasting best built Yadda Yadda Yawn... Yadda.. You watch too much T.V. I never said that there wasn't any good running fords or chevy's, I simply said that there is probably a 10:1 ratio of dodges vs the other two. Give credit where credit is due... And a Ford 6.0 named unbroken...? Ha Ha Ha, I won't even go there.

So much hostility. I remember having these arguments in high school. We usually settled it by hookin up in the parkin lot, and seeing who could drag who.

Ok, If ford is going to succeed with the powerstroke, here is what they have to do.  First of all they need a way better motor then the 6.4L Twin Turbo.  Remember it produces the same horsepower and torque as the current Duramax Diesel.  And 2, the powerstroke needs to be alittle bit stronger then it is.  I have seen the inside of the powerstroke after it has split the crankshaft in 2 peices. Not a pretty site.

I think the Ford/Cat idea would be better then Ford/International.  But if that were to happen Ford will Have to wrestle with Toyota.  In this months Issue, Toyota is in "Talks" with Cat on them building a Diesel for the new Toyota Tundra 3/4 ton.  It is hard to say what It might be, but I can't wait to find out.

When I read the article about about Toyota getting into the picture I kind of got a little mad. What made me mad was that they would come into the REAL truck world with one of the best diesel engines out there but would probably be in a 3/4 - 1/2 ton look a like. I dont think Ford will want to jepordize thier relationship with International and it would be hard to let the ol' faithful go for dodge. I wish you could have multiple options of engines in a truck like you do with bigger trucks. I believe the only trucks deserving being called 3/4 heavy duty are the big three. I might be a little biased but o-well.
