The new twin turbo powerstroker is fit in the new Fords so tight that if and when you have major engine problems NOW you have to pull the cab off to work on the engine. FORD HAS A BETTER IDEA 111 JOB 1 Makes you want to go get one NOW>>>>>

I don't know if this is true but a buddy that works at Ford told me that the new 6.4s alternator cost $750(from Ford) and you have to pull the cab to get at it. He did say that the 08 cabs are eazier to pull.

I know they left the 7.3 because they had to meet this emissions stuff, but they have had lots of problems since they quit usin that motor.

haha i love my 7.3, it is easy to work on and is very reliable. i recently put in a crankcase vent kit, and it was very easy to do, i would not have even tried to do this on the 6.0...

There are alot of vehicles now where it is just easier to pull the cab to get at the engine than to try and do it otherwise. And honestly, if that is how it is designed to work, its only six bolts and a couple wire harness plugs and its off, it's really only a big deal to the do-it-yourselfer who the OEM's are trying to discourage from working on their own vehicles anyway...

As soon as they offer a Ranger with a Diesel in America, I'll be the idiot camping out in front of the Ford Dealer!

I've talked to a few mechanics at ford dealers they say pulling the cab on the 08 is about a 1 hour job and then they can get to everything, they say they like it a lot.
