I don't know if any of you have already seen this site or not, but this is a link to a site where these guys are building a jet bike out of a large turbo.
http://www.badbros.net/jetbike.html
I thought that this was really fascinating. They're using a VT-50 turbo, which I think may have come off an old Cummins (please correct me if I'm wrong). I'm sure they will be using jet fuel (maybe JP-8 or JP-4 which are very similar in their uses to diesel), and it's using propane and water injection which means it utilizes a lot of diesel technology, so maybe there is something to be learned from these guys on the diesel side of the world. I just though this was a really cool concept and a must see.
Has anybody else seen a peculiar use for a traditionally diesel piece of equipment?
