Well folks, I was a skiptic at ONLY $68 bucks but man I'm honestly shocked!!!
My truck details:05 Cummins QuadCab 4x4 Laramie with stock 265/75/17 tires.
-Bully Dog Triple Dog with CRAZY LARRY -Volant turbo back 4" Exhaust -Volant cold air intake
That's it!! The only mods!! AS WELL AS A STOCK TRANNY WITH 42K MILES ON IT!!! AN IT'S GETTING PRETTY TIRED!! SLIPPING A BIT AND THE CONVERTOR STALL SPEED IS BETWEEN 50-60 MPH.. THE SUNCOAST I'LL BE GETTING WILL PUT THE POWER DOWN A WHOLE LOT BETTER!!!
TOP 5 BEST READINGS ON MY OUTLOOK MONITOR BEFORE THE BOOST FOOLER:
1/4 MILE: -13.21 AT 98 MPH -13.29 AT 97 MPH -13.37 AT 98 MPH -13.39 AT 97 MPH -13.40 AT 97 MPH
0-60 MPH TIMES
-6.12 -6.17 -6.18 -6.20 -6.21
HIGHEST EGT'S WITHOUT BOOST FOOLER AT THE END OF THE 1/4 MILE.
Between 1400 - 1450 Degrees
All of the aBove times and readings were launching on common roads and the shoulder of the highway..The pavement has debri and causes tire spin...All in 2x4 drive.
NOW FOR THE SURPRISING PART......SERIOUSLY, ONLY $68 AND A 3 MIN. INSTALL!!!!!!!
WITH THE BOOST FOOLER.....
BEST 1/4 TIMES
-13.00 AT 99 MPH in 4x4 drive -13.10 AT 99 MPH -13.12 AT 100 MPH -13.15 AT 98 MPH -13.17 AT 100 MPH
BEST 0-60 MPH
-5.76 -5.96 -5.97 -5.98
AND HERE IS THE MOST AWESOME PART!!!
THE HIGHEST EGT I RECORDED ALL DAY TODAY DURING ALL THESE RUNS AND SOME OTHER PLAYING I DID!!!!!
ONLY 1237 DEGREES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ONLY 1237 DEGREES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
IT WAS WORTH TYPING TWICE!!!THAT'S OVER 200 DEGREES LOWER ON A CONSISTANT BASIS!!!! THAT'S WORTH $70 RIGHT THERE!!!
OK, The Boost Fooler (for you guys that have never heard of it) is just a simple circuit the you purchase and snap inline on the MAP sensor on the side of the Cummins engine.......Literally a 3 min. install and ONLY $68.....I bought mine from www.grimmperformance.com they have an on screen coupon the knocks the price down from around $79........
Sorry you FORD AND CHEVY/GMC guys, It's ONLY for the Dodge/Cummins..I'm pretty sure!!!!
For the 04.5 - 07 model 5.9's, ALL YOU HAVE TO DO IS PLUG IT IN...Older models require modifing the waste gate to get the extra boost......
All it does if Fool the cumputer and it makes the stock turbo produce more BOOST...They advertise as much as an EXTRA 15 POUNDS OF BOOST....AS MUCH AS 50 EXTRA HP.....AND AS MUCH AS A 300 DEGREE DROP IN EGT'S for modified trucks...I.E. Downloader and/or Injectors.......
They do say in my packaging I got with it today, that it's NOT ment for plug-in modules.....Not sure why, but I think some modules do their own boost fooling....
Anyway fella's......Look at the numbers.. I know that they might be a little off from a true DRAG STRIP timing system, but these are the ACTUAL improvement using my B.D. with OUTLOOK set-up.....But the pyro doesn't lie...OVER A 200 DEGREE DROP IN MY EGT'S!!
There are some reports on some forums of people having some issues, but most of what I read before I decided to purchase were POSITIVE!!!!
EITHER WAY GUYS, IF IT DOESN'T IMPRESS YOU THE WAY IT HAS ME, IT'S ONLY $70 BUCKS!!!!!!!!
CHECK IT OUT!!!!!!!! AND FOR ALL YOU SARCASTIC KIND....NO, I DON'T WORK FOR THE COMPANY!!!! ....I'M JUST STOKED THAT I'M ONLY .01 SECOND'S FROM GETTING INTO THE 12'S IN THE QUARTER AND LOWERED MY EGT'S TO BOOT!!.....
WHEN I GET MY FASS, ARC INTAKE, AND MY FULL SUNCOAST TRANNY, I'LL BE THERE FOR SURE!!!!! THEN ON TO INJECTOR'S, EXHAUST MANIFOLD, THE BIGGER TURBO......
I'M TOTALLY GONNA GO BROKE WITH THIS DIESEL ADDICTION I'VE GOT NOW!!!! ![]()
Don't forget www.grimmperformance.com Buy one today!!!

PRODUCT INFO FROM THE GRIMM'S WEBSITE
Quadzilla Boost Fooler for the 2003-2007 Dodge Cummins Diesel.
If you are using a downloader/programmer or if you are just running modified injectors on your 03-07 5.9L Dodge Cummins, then the Quadzilla Boost Fooler is a MUST HAVE PRODUCT! While programmers can definitely improve performance, there are still things that they cannot do to allow you to gain optimal power and efficiency out of your engine. The Boost Fooler will allow you to increase turbo boost to compensate for the added fueling modifications you have made. Enabling your turbo to produce more boost will increase overall horsepower and torque and you will lower your exhaust temperatures. The Boost Fooler is even a great enhancement for a stock truck that hauls heavy loads and needs exhaust temperature reduction. Even on a stock truck you can easily gain 5-8psi of boost pressure to help cool your EGTs. You will also see a slight improvement in peak horsepower. The Quadzilla Boost Fooler uses a specialized high impedance circuit to allow you to make more turbo boost without setting any ECU error codes. The Boost Fooler is 100% weatherproof and designed for simple under the hood installation.
So what can you expect? On any year model Dodge, you will be able to make as much turbo boost as possible with your fueling modifications. It is important to notice that the stock turbos do have some limitations. If you desire extreme levels of turbo boost then you may need a larger, aftermarket turbocharger.Horsepower gains will vary from 10hp on a stock truck up to 50hp on heavily modified trucks. EGT reductions will vary from 75 degrees on a stock truck up to 300 degrees on heavily modified trucks. On 2003-2004 5.9L Cummins you will need to physically modify your wastegate to gain more turbo boost. Doing this without the Boost Fooler will result in check engine lights and codes set into the computer. Stock 03-04 trucks should generate 23-24psi of boost pressure stock. With the Boost Fooler you will be able to run 35+ psi of boost dependant on your fueling enhancements. The 2004.5-2007 5.9L Cummins uses an electronic wastegate which is operated off of the MAP sensor. In this instance no modifications to your turbo will be necessary. Stock 04.5-07 trucks typically spike up to 32psi of boost pressure. With the Boost Fooler you will see up to 40psi of boost on a stock truck and up to 48psi of boost on heavily fueled trucks.

i've looked at them for my truck and they're only for the common rails, but all you have to do is unhook the vacuum from your wastegate to do the same thing.
hey swole, one thing i'm worried about is too much boost, the advertisement said spiking up to 48psi what does your truck spike to?

Well see, thats the weird part......My outlook used to show my highest spike at 37psi BEFORE I installed the Boost Fooler........Now I can only get it to read a high of 34psi with the B.F.......
There must be something in the electronics that keeps my Outlook from get a correct reading....I would have to have a separate gauge to get the real reading......
Anyway, I don't think it will ever get to 48 psi....I figure it's somewhere in the 40-43 range...given the small improvement in my times....But the EGT diff is the main thing....WOW!!
Try it!!!

I ordered mine and it's on the way. Thanks for the detailed post Swole and the tip on where to get one. I have heard of this before but just didn't get around to ordering one. As for the readings you are right, you would have to get a separate gauge to tell how much boost it is actually getting. That is how the boost fooler works. Tricks the ecu by lowering the observed MAP signal so the computer thinks it is at 34psi rather than 40-48psi actual value. Since the outlook is tapped into that same signal the reading is lower.

I'm glad my post helped....I hope you have the same results I got....As for the actual psi, I don't really need to know..All I know is im going faster/quicker and my EGT's are Lower...I'm happy!!
Post up when you get it and let me know what you think.....

: hey swole, have you ever dyno'd your truck just currious what this setup would get? real low 13's thats close to vette territory isn't it?
Nope, I don't really know where I can get it dyno'd except Garmon's.....I won't get to go down there until I can afford to purchase my SunCoast Tranny and Convertor and have him do the install.........My plan is to install a FASS and an ARC intake then go for the tranny........I want to have him dyno it once with the stock tanny and then with the SunCoast.....
Plus, the numbers I posted are from my OUTLOOK monitor...I'm sure they are a little on the optimistic side...Once I get the S.C. tranny I'd like to go to a real track........But the OUTLOOK is a good tool for check improvements like the Boost Fooler...
I Raced my buddy in his 2004 Ford Lightning...We are just about side by side even!!! That was BEFORE the Boost Fooler install.....I can't wait to race him again and then tell him that I ONLY spent $68 Bucks!!!!!!! hehe

Be careful with that boost fooler, the stock Cummins turbo only hits 36 and I have heard from many shops that they can only handle up to 40, the highest I let mine hit is 39-41 and not for long.

what do you use to controll your boost, i herd that the jobe performance wastegate controller can set a limit.

My Edge lets me adjust my boost and set a max boost set point, I have it at 39 but it will creep to 40-41 still.

does that come with all the jucie w/attitude or is that something extra, and the boost fooler is it adjustable or have an on/off switch?

Not extra, the attitude lets you adjust it and has an audiable alert for boost so you know when you are getting to high, you can on the 24v also, just another reason I bought Edge over Bully Dog.
