it all depends on what you want. Ex. extended cab, 4wd/2wd, dualie, ect. i would guess starting at a very basic work truck nothing on it going for about 7,000 to a nice loaded one up close to 20,000. just all in what your looking for.

mine?? well all i got on it so far is the 5 inch exhaust and i gots a air filter coming for it... forgot what its called... put the bully dog chip on it... and just got new tires on it... toyo open country... nothing fancy just a good ten ply tire... so far it is still impressing me... im sure it will sound even better when i get that air filter for it on it... i think it will come by the end of next week. now i am think of getting the 2002 just because i think the mirrors on it are cool... then i will have two cummins (never thought i would even have one) i just seen a marron cummins the other day (same color as mine) with 4wd ex. cab short box 2500 with 83,000 miles with a k&n air filter and a little 80 horse edge chip... ran pretty good but not as good as mine... it only had the stock exhaust though... so if i get this one and sell my pickup i will have too cummins same body style same everything just 3 years diffrence... o for that pickup they wanted 17900 is that a good deal? so in the end it would cost me prly 6-7 thousand... for that many less miles i will definetly pay that much... im gonna ask one more time how can i (without buying anything) make more black smoke? n e suggestions are welcome and greatly appreiated... just had the 99 under my goose neck 4 days ago. first time ever... i really like the way it pulled it isnt as good as the 6.0L i dont think but for the sound and the reliability of the cummins vs. the 6.0L i am more then happy with the cummins. my wife has wanted to add an addition to the house for a long time... she gets mad at me becasue i buy pickups instead of saving up for the 240,000 dollar additon. we only thought it would be around 165,000 but we have went to many diffrent people and they all said about the same price... have any of you guys ever added an addition to your house? were you glad you did it? this will be my first one and im not sure if i want to let someone i dont know demolish a side of my house... im kinda leary of doin it but im sure they will do a good job... i will tell you guys if i end up gettin that pickup... i would sell the other 6.0L too and just let her drive one of them... that 02 is a 5 speed manual for 17900 im sure i can talk him down to at least 16500.
well boys have a nice day i have to go. Bigdog

now i am think of getting the 2002 just because i think the mirrors on it are cool... then
Be careful w/that, i think the same thing i keep them folded out just because they look cool, that is until my fiance knocked one off on a telephone pole last week!!! she was driving behind me and all i heard was WHAMMM, i knew then what had happened. they are folded in in my readers ride pictures but if you look at the passenger side mirror you can see that a big chunck is missing.. but i was able to pick a new one up off of ebay for 179 dollars so it wasn't that bad.
just had the 99 under my goose neck 4 days ago. first time ever... i really like the way it pulled it isnt as good as the 6.0
belive it or not your 99 has more horse power and torque than your 6.0 up until about 2500rpm. So really the 6.0 should only pull better if you are flooring it. and as far as the 02 goes, it will be a bullit proof truck w/manual transmision and sounds like a fair price or about what i would expect for a truck like that. the cummins hold thier value really well. but if you want a really good truck and black smoke for little money you should consider looking for a 96-98 12 valve w/manual(215hp) transmision. to me they are the best trucks ever made. the 99 is all electroniclly controlled so to add more fuel you would have to buy a programer or box to make it smoke but the 12v i bought a fuel plate for 120$ and it made a big difference in power and smoked a lot more too but if you really want some smoke you could pick up a set of 370hp marine injectors for about350$ off ebay and that will really wake it up.

Hey hustler shan, if you tow alot Id stick with the 6.0. Personally Ive never towed anything in a 6.0 but this guy I work with has an 04 crew cab short bed 6.0 an towing the same trailer that I tow in my 99 regular cab long bed 5.9 his truck feels alot stronger. Iv riden with him a few times and his truck deifinitly feels better towing that 7,000 pound trailer than my truck and when towing a 12,000 pound trailer we have to use sometimes his truck feels alot stronger at higher speeds and from a stop. As for that addition you were talking about I work construction and Ive been involved in building a few additions and I can tell you for the most part that the people who get them are very pleased with them. One piece of advice I do have is make absolutly sure that you and your wife agree and like everything that you plan to put in the addition. I was working at this house a few weeks ago and this couple was getting their bathrooms redone and the wife changed her mind about so many things (paint color, toilets, the vanity, lights, the type of tile we used for the floor, etc) after we had already installed everything that it backed up our schedule for another two weeks and trust me you do not want pissed off construction workers working in your house. Plus it added like another 10 grand to their final bill. I hope this helps.
