I'd like to see some old VW and Mercedes diesels posted on Rides. If you have one, please post it today!

For all of you who have already contributed, thanks a bunch, and please tell your diesel-owning friends to post as well!

Hey yeah, I have a 1980 volkswagen rabbit with the 1.5 liter diesel. 48 rated horsepower. Slow as molasses, but fun to drive. And smoke!!!!!!!! It smokes like a perkins with flat top pistons!!!! Also I have a 1979 rabbit with 1.6 million kilometers on the clock for parts. Still runs, still drives but you have to hotwire the glow plugs.
Last summer I strapped a 15 foot canoe to the roof of my rabbit and threw my fishing and camping gear inside and headed out on a 1000 kilometer round trip. My rabbit got an average of 50 mpg full of gear with a canoe on the roof, and the best leg of the trip was 60.04 mpg.
This summer I want to find a small camper to pull behind, just to show the big truck guys where it's at.
Oh the looks I get! Most of the diesel truck guys look like they want to drive over my car.
I will find some pics for you and maybe make a video.

Hello. I am from a small town in Saskatchewan, Canada.
Mostly a farming area. There's a few caddy's up here, but not many. I saw a sweet white caddy this summer, restored and making smoke.
There were never any four wheel drive caddy's, were there?
I'd like one of those. It's mostly truck country here.
