Ford does have good deals for companies. I don't think the F-150 is the number one selling Vehicle anymore tho. at least as of 2009. and dodge isn't the most powerful, even tho they claim it in magazines and *** Chevy came out with a half ton 6.2v engine. Chevy's are kinda chincy tho for their base trucks. ls and lt are unbelivable tho.

All of the diesel engines now a days are great engines. they all have plenty of power it just depends on what is the most realiable. As for dodge, they are a peice of *** the cab is cheap and the new inline 6 is going to be nothing but problems. talk about overheating. the chevy trucks are great trucks and have great power but they are also fairly cheap. they have potential to be great trucks. and the superdutys also have great power and have nice cabs. they also have a great payload. however you look at it any of these trucks are great but which one is the best? i've owned my 2001 7.3L powerstroke since 01' and have never had a single problem.

OK talk about it!!! I know tons of guys that run Dodges from '95 to present and I don't know of any that even come close to overheating. Your lucky you own one of Fords better trucks and that's why you have not had a problem, but to say Ford is without its share of problems....don't forget Ford paid large to get out of their contract with Navistar because of "nothing but problems" with their motors. Other than my injection pump going on my '02 Dodge I too have never had a problem...and nothing has broken in the cab either.

of course we have our problems, and i wouldnt be talking about money since crysler and GM are the ones asking for govertment money to stay afloat, simply because the products are horrible.

....and you think Ford doesn't have their hand out? The big three are hurting because of bad business sense...really bad business sense. Their labour contract is killing them for one thing. GM scraped their electric car program...the EV-1 and went all out with on the large SUV market, pushing big gas guzzlers like the  Hummer... then oil went to $150 a barrel...moves like that will put a company on the rocks in a right hurry. Chrysler and GM products are every bit as good as Ford...I'm pretty sure GM has more cars in the top ten for reliability than Ford.

then explain to me why the F series trucks are the best selling trucks. its not the best truck for no reason. then i see chevy not far behind, then there is dodge at the bottom of the page.

Where did I say Ford wasn't a good truck? Check out my posts on this site, I have always been a Ford fan... just don't like the 6.0, but the rest of the truck is fine and I loved all three of my Fords...like I said in the past I'm looking for an off warranty '05-'06 F350 with a dead 6 litre that I can stuff a common rail 5.9 into. As far as your post goes, I was just pointing out that all of the big three are hurting...Ford truck sales are down and as the Chev/GM boys will point out if you add the two together they out number Ford by a fair bit. It will be interesting in 2010-2011 to see how Ford sales hold up without a diesel to offer.

i drive anywhere from 4k to 8k a month and 95% of that is hooked up to a trailer that weighs 8k emtpty, will haul up to 18k on it. the dodge is the only truck that can pull this load and get descent mpg's stock. had 2 chevy's couldnt afford to keep the fuel in them and the other contractors that i know who have ford's say their mpg was worse then the gm. Ford sells a lot of trucks because they dont hold their resale value and its almost cheaper to buy a new one then a used one and i believe thats the 1/2 ton market  dont believe they are that big  of a leader in the deisel market
I burn more diesel and run more miles in a week the most of you people do in a month. ctds that have been used 97 3500, 98.5 3500, 98.5 3500,01 3500, 03 3500. those that are being used 06 3500, 07 3500. and yea these trucks earn their living

I own a 6.5 td. and i've drove cummins before. Both good engines. Best thing out there now is to improve one of the two engine's after buying an old truck and give it some flare if you want. Either are reliable. GM 6.5 td's came with shitty pistons and other changeable options. if you fix them, that's probably one of the most reliable diesel's. a 5.9 with a little work done to it is pretty low maintance as well. It definately beats *** around with all the emisions *** the new one's have. Plus throwin down 50 grand for a new 6.6 or 6.7.

Like posted in another thread, the cummins in our dodges are a smaller version of a cummins that is offered in semis. My 2000 freightliner and every other semi is a straight six. Cat,Cummins,& Dtroit only make I-6 for trucks. I dont see Dura-Crap or Powerjokes being put in heavy equipment or semis. I fact ford uses a cummins in the f-550. Dura-crap+powerjoke=basterd diesels based off gasser design.

A school bus is not a semi. Cummins makes a v8 for bradly millitaty vehicles too but thats not a semi either. Cummins and Cat also put v8 in motor homes but guess what? Those arent semis either. The 6.7 cummins is a smaller version of the ISX modle used in semi trucks.
