Ok, here's the dilemma: i pull a 36 foot weekend warrior trailor and while my 6.0 is running strong, i just want more power, of course. however, i am concerned about my tranny holding up to any power modifications. What im wondering is if a new torque converter would sufficient for a 75-100 hp increase or do i need to completely rebuild my entire tranny? also, who is the best company to turn to for a solution? any help or feedback would be greatly appreciated.

I'll check with my Dad about  this but I think a Tourg would do the job just fine.  He knows a lot more than I do sense he is the owner of our Trannie Shop lol.  I agree with Bluetech151 though go with ATS no matter what.

Only 75-100? You very well could be ok with stock. With a TC you should be just fine. But its a slippery slope... you'll start with 100, then want more... 200, 250, 300, 400... now you really need a built trans. So if it were me looking to upgrade, I would do it once and do it right, even if you're not going to use it all now. Build the trans as much as you can afford, remember "Nothing built to strong ever broke"
As soon as they offer a Ranger with a Diesel in America, I'll be the idiot camping out in front of the Ford Dealer!

Horsepower, horsepower, horsepower! Shouldn't one cranking up the output of a turbo diesel be concerned about the HUGE torque gains? My Edge is good for 100 to 110hp, but it will push out right around 200 ft/lb of torque. So what number should we be concerned about? HP is nice, but torque snaps motor mounts!

buddy if all your doin is addin 100 hp u dnt have to wry about your tranny... take that from a guy that has 2 2004 6.0L and one of them have had a 100 hp chip for 75000miles and everything has been fine.    and my other one has had a 165hp chip with a green airfilter and a 5inch edge exhaust system  for 150000 miles and nothing has went wrong... except i had to put new heads in it hear couple weeks ago... but 150000 miles with 165 extra hp is pretty darn good.      and trust me i dont treat the gas pedel like it has an egg on it. and that 150000 miles it has had a 35 foot excel camper on it alot of the time. the pickup and camper together weigh 28160 lbs             u r fine with the stock if all your doin is 100 hp. but get gauges if u dont u will burn up your motor. take it from a guy that has did it with his 165hp chip. after the motor went i bought guages good thing the motor went with only 13000 miles on it though.      it blew casue i was showin off to my brother with my camper and boat. up a steep hill and she melted down.            now wait a minute. i was in tlkin to ford a few weeks ago and they said is it chipped i said yep. they said there is your problem i was making about 39 lbs of boost with everything and the mechanic... my friend from highschool and best mechanic for ford in the midwest. name is leroy. he said that stock the 6.0L make about 25-28 lbs of boost. and that is all the motor can take. nothing more. i told him that mine was fine for 150000 miles and he said well you got one of the good 6.0L. i questioned. he said alot of the 6.0L are the crappyiest things you will find but then some of them are the best pickup you could ask for. i musta got lucky on both of mine.     sounds like you are havin no prblm with yours too. if you have over 50000 miles and there hasnt been a prblm yet then you prbly got one of the good 6.0L. and you can do alot to it. just   plz im begging you get gauges and you will never have a prblm if you pay attention and back out of it when its getting to hot. 1250 or lower is fine nothing more then 1250 for to long
were pissin up a rope guys!!!

1.While I appriciate the extensive response, the original question was never answered.   I'll assume the torque doesn't matter, or better yet, nobody has a clue, ie. too fixated on an hp increase.
2. As far as the turbo issue, it was like that when I bought it last summer, and was reared its evil head again this summer, so I got it fixed. My Edge Platinum has more guages than I can use, and trust me, I watch'em like a pissed off woman with a knife!
