carrier bearing vibration

Ever since I did a full banks upgrade to my 99 power stroke, I get a vibration throughout my truck when I'm towing heavier loads.  The faster I try to accelerate the worse it gets.  I'm told it's the carrier bearing not being able to handle the power output.  Does anyone know of an aftermarket bearing that will do the job or a one piece drive shaft.

I tried this site, but there isn't anything about carrier bearings or drive shafts on it.

Have you tried just replacing it with one from an auto parts store? You said your truck is a 99, how many miles are on it? Is it lifted? It is very possible that it is just worn out and in need of replacement and the new banks stuff had nothing to do with it... I'm not saying for sure that the new power isn't the cause, just suggesting that there may be more things to look at...

the carrier bearing comes in a kit with every thing you need and do you have a 99 or 99 1/2  or are you talking about the bearing that holds up your drive shaft after the tranny

Pretty sure he's talking about the driveshaft carrier bearing, not the rear axle carrier bearing...

I don't see why the upgrade would have affected the carrier bearing on the drive shaft seeing as how it is not taking the twisting tourqe of the engine. It almost had to going bad already and u just haven't noticed it. I know that on the truck I drive at work it will do that when the rear u-joint is going out. It goes through them like mad. It will feel fine when empty but start to vibrate when loaded. A replacement for the carrier bearing from your local store should work just fine. Hope this helps.

The carrier bearring must have went out because the shaft was not greased, so the axle movement rocked it out of place, thus making it go out.

I haven't replaced it.  It only does it in 2nd and 3rd gear when I'm accelerating fast with my trailer in tow.  My truck has 119,000 on it.  Yes, I lifted it 4in and put a 1 inch shim kit under the carrier bearing.  A friend of mine has an 01 dually and he toes 10tons daily with it and he has the same problem I do.

i have a straight 99.  Yes, I'm talking about the bearing that holds up the drive shaft.  I shimmed it down 1 inch for the 4 inch lift I installed.
