Hi Folks!!

It's Big Swole (David)  I'm the one that started this thread WAY back when....Good to see So many have replied and given their info!!

Just wanted to update everyone on my truck and status along with some info MOST of you will need to know at some point if you mod your diesel Truck...

Garmons Diesel Performance in Griffin GA (Jeff Garmon) is the reason my truck runs 11.47@118mph in the quarter on Diesel ONLY at 7300 lbs....He's been in the business WAY before diesel was Cool....

He's really hitting it hard and heavy these days with Performance Race and Towing Tranny's...The BEST in the business in my opinion..He's does Everything in house and even has his partner (Phil Taylor - Performance Diesel Convertors) right in house too....They can custom build a tranny / convertor setup for your truck and ship it anywhere in the U.S.....All you have to do is install or have it installed and ship the core back to him...Very little down time!!

Take my word for this and do it right the First time...You can't use the power if you can't get it to the ground..DO THE TRANNY FIRST!!!!  Then just go crazy with the mods after that..

Anyone needing info on Garmons:

Garmons Diesel Performance
Griffin GA
404-557-4972

or contact me, but you'll have to send me a Private Message here or Join up the the best Competition Diesel forum around   www.competitiondiesel.com
I've got the same screen name over there so PM me and I'll give you my number when you serious about getting with Jeff on the BEST mod you'll ever do to your truck..

BTW, I don't work for Jeff.  I was a customer that turned friend to Jeff and now I just believe in him and his work...Jeff has helped me so much with my truck I can't begin to pay him back. So, I'm just trying to help him and help everyone else get the best tranny in the business.

Remember   www.competitiondiesel.com is where we'll be for the Racing /Pulling / Serious side of things and I'll obviously be around here as well!

God Bless!!!

David

Hey EMT Mike, did you do the mods yourself?? The EGR bypass & head studs? Did you have to remove the cab, as most forums suggest?
I have a 2004 F250 that I would like to do this to. Thanks

My nickname is "Dieseldad". I live in northern Ca., Sacramento area. I have a 2004 F250 SD. 6.0, auto, 4" turbo back with Magnaflow muffler, Airhog cold air intake, Superchips tuner, Autometer gauges. I pull a 30ft. 5er. Have blown the innercooler tank, the turbo impeller (warranty rebuilt turbo & replaced innercooler).
I have the EGR unplugged. I want to install an EGR delete & cooler bypass.
I would also   like to replace the turbo with a new Garrett, innercooler with a Banks Technicooler & Elbow, and install head studs. Waiting for money & to get back to work, (off with a broken leg).

I havent done the EGR delete and head studs yet ,Im waiting till after hunting season. but yes I did the work myself,Ive done a couple of deleats for freinds and a set of studs and gaskets and I did pull the cab its about the only way I can see to do it and have any room to work but if you dont have the lift to pull the cab it could be done.It took me a day 8(hours to pull the cab and 6 to replace it)Its not as bad as it sounds and it realy makes the rest of the work a lot easeyer.I rec. doing any big repairs that may be needed as everything is out in the open for easey access.Check your FIM harness for rubbing that can cause big problems mine was chaffed but I got it in time, and you need to pull it for room to work anyway.Good luck let me know howw things go.

Hello!  My name is Chad, but I go by CreeperSleeper.  I'm an avid off-roader and Toyota 4x4 -aholic.  I'm 27 years old and spend my free time wheeling, working with the state to keep trails open and spending as much time in the woods as possible!  I currently have a year left on a leased BMW 3-series and I wheel a 1997 Toyota Land Cruiser that is getting to the point where it needs to get trailered... Hopefully when the lease is up, I will have a used diesel truck of some sort sitting in my driveway!

Hi all, my name is David.  Other than uparmored HMMWVs and Armored Security Vehicles, I'm a diesel truck newbie, got my first one yesterday.  It's a plain-jane '02 F350 7.3 SD.  It's got a ridiculous 258k  miles, but I was in the market for a beater truck and got this.  I'm sure I'll have plenty of questions for some of the more experienced in here.  I'll look around the forum before posting, so I don't ask too many questions that have already been answered.
