Ok please tell me what is wrong with my 01 6.6. The injectors were replaced at about 70,000 miles I now have 210,000 miles on my truck. When the weather is hot ala 85 or above the truck goes into limp mode when it gets warmed up. However before it gets real up to temp it will redline to 3200 in all five gears, however going up a small hill it will code. I not been able to make it code going down hill no matter what I do. Once it sets turned off for a few minutes the computer will re set and it will run ok until I go up a long hill or try to accelerate up almost any small incline. Down hill no trouble. Got any ideas? The dealer is TOTALLY stumped.

From what I've heard, it's mostly the LB7s that had injector issues. LMM is based on the LBZ, and that model didn't have a lot of injector issues, that I'm aware of.

I currently have a 2005 LLY in a 2500HD that I use daily for work it has 128,000 miles, it has had a couple of the injectors replaced and 2 EGR valves and a fuel filter or two. At times between 1500 and 2000 RPM it will sputter and hesitate and act like it is starving for fuel and going to stall. When we pull the EGR valve it is litteraly caked with black soot / tar. The one diesel shop I have had it into says that I need to use fuel additive " Stantadyne " After we either replace or clean the EGR it seems to clear up for a few weeks then it gradually gets worse but still does not happen everytime. I personnaly think it is electrical but the shop says mechanical. I have heard things about the Ice Pick Fix?? Wiring Harness over the Alternator ?? Someone even suggested I put a quart of tranny fluid in my fuel tank to lubricate the pump and injectors...Has anyone else had simillar problems...I used to drive a 97 Power Stroker..When I gave it up it had 337k with only 1 new turbo and a couple of cam sensors the other crew still drives it with over 400k....First On Race Day must mean something...Thanks For Any Insight

Sorry Mr. GM Diesel technician man, but your District managers and GM's are "yes men" doing what the company tells them to do. I have a 2006 Chevy 3500 with the LBZ and began having problems at 108,000 miles with the truck going into limp mode, setting the P0087 Low fuel rail pressure code. It has been in the shop at least six times for this with the only result being money out of my pocket. They either don't have a CLUE as to what the problem is (which is 1. harrd to believe or 2. incompetence since it's their engine and they should be able to diagnose it! I find it much more logical that they are just dodging responsibility, it has after all come to light in the last couple of years how greedy and irresponsible our American corporations are these days!!! I relish the day they are forced to "PAY UP"!

Hi, I have an 2004.5 Duramax. It started miss-firing and white smoke coming out of the exhuast when I stop the truck in gear. I can tell the white smoke is caused from over fueling from the smell. It doesn't do it nearly as bad when you put it in nuetral and it doesn't do it all the time. I'm not sure if it is an injector or something different. Is their a way to test the injectors to know witch ones might be bad? Any Ideas?

I have an '06 2500HD with a Duramax. My truck has 66,000 miles on it. I have always kept up on all services. Recently my truck started not wanting to start after it is warmed up. I have to prime it. My fuel mileage went from around 19MPG to about 8MPG. Now I have white smoke coming out of the exaust with a burning odor. The local GM dealer cannot find anything wrong and there are no trouble codes showing up. When the truck was only 2 months old, it started cutting out and wouldn't go over 1500RPM's. The dealership fixed it right away and I haven't had fuel problems until now. Has anyone had this problem and actually got it fixed????? The dealership has had my truck for 15 days as of today and they are no closer to finding an answer than they were 2 weeks ago....

PLEASE LET ME KNOW WHICH DIRECTION TO START. I HAVE AN 04 THAT HAS INJECTORS REPLACED TWO TIMES BEFORE 100K MILES. AT 120K MILES THEY NEEDED TO BE REPLACED AGAIN. WHEN I TOOK IT TO TWO DIFFERENT DEALERS THEY SAID IT DID NOT MEET THE CRITERIA FOR REPLACEMENT. I WAS TOLD TO DRIVE IT UNTIL IT BROKE DOWN. NOW IT HAS BUT THERE IS ANTIFREEZE IN THE EXHAUST AND PROBALLY A CRACKED HEAD. THIS IS BECAUSE OF THEM NOT REPLACING THE INJECTORS. WHERE DO I NEED TO GO?
