i have a creature for a vehicle... it's a 77 jeep cherokee with a 92 w-250 frame and drivetrain... the problem i'm now having is this: i modified the heater element box in the jeep HVAC system to clear the turbo... but with the cummins staying so cool i can't get any real heat from my defrost... it's enought to keep my windshield clear but not enough to warm the cab... which makes for a chilly commute to work in the mornings... unfortunately i don't have the heater from the dodge body anymore... i really wish i had kept it... does anyone have any suggestions on what i can do to fix my problem... or if i might have just accidentally switched the inlet-outlet hoses on the jeep core??? thank you in advance

you might want to check when the thermostats open. should be around 180-190 degrees. it doesnt matter how little the engine works it should warm up. i let mine idle when its really cold out and after 10 minutes the coolant is around 150.

yea the cummins gets pretty cold in the winter. just today while sitting in a parking lot when it was -4 below my temp gauge went from 185 to something like 150.
i would try to find a heater core off anything and run some coolant lines inside the cab and somehow rig it up to provide heat.

im not sure if all cummins have this but mine does. there are 2 different thermostats, one opens at 190, and one opens at 150. even when its 90 degrees out, ill be on the road and the water temp will rise to 190, then fall to 150 and repeat over and over again. im not exactly sure why they did that but im gonna ge 2 190 degree thermostats because it sucks in winter. i live in wisconsin so it gets really cold and there is a noticable difference in the air temp from the blower when the second thermostat opens and the water temp drops to 150.

I posted this in another thread, and most people that have used it seem to be very happy with it. It's called the Webasto BlueHeat.
