Just to let everyone know, there is a TSB for dodge trucks and that wonderful self-sustaining vibration at highway speeds.  It involves replacing both outer tie rods, steering stabilizer and setting tire pressure to around 65 psi.  You also need to check upper and lower balljoints by lifting the tires off the ground and checking movement from the 12 and 6 o'clock position and also using a pry bar between the bottom of the knuckle and bottom ear of the axle housing see if the knuckle moves up and down. If there is excessive movement then the balljoints need to be replaced.  Hope this helps!

hey ill tell you what, ive got the same issue with my 03 dodge 2500...well had that is.  i installed a 6" lift on it and hit a bump at around the same speed, i thought i was gonna roll over. anyway it stopped when i bought 35 inch tires and a new set of wheels, they are offset, so i really dont know if it was that or just luck.  i got an alighnment twice, and it didnt help, dealership said it was the track bar,  nope. i guess im one of the few lucky ones. my truck no longer is infected with the "wobble"

About your front end. There is a Factory recall from Dodge on this problem. My 06 Mega cab did the same thing. Without any lifts. The replaced the Ball joints and Steering Stabilizer. No problems since.

I just went through this on my 07. Two weeks ago I almost took out every car on a three lane highway trying to stop the "DEATH wobble". I called 2 local dealers who stated that they have never heard of such a problem. Took it to NTB got balanced and aligned($200) and still get a shake from time to time but not near what it was doing. They also advised that an upgrade on the stabilzer should remedy the shake completely.

OK... I feel everyone's pain! I'm almost to the point of taking the leveling kit off of my '07 dodge 3500...I figured that was the problem. But I was told that you could get some sort of double shock system and it would take care of all of the shaking. Anyone else heard anything about that?

My 97 1/2ton dodge (clubcab 4x4, 360 gas, stock height) HAD the "DW". It had blown everybodies mind that I had talked to, including the local alignment shops. By the time things were said and done, I had put a new track bar, 2 shocks, stabilizer, 4 ball joints, 2 wheel bearings, 3 tie rod ends, and a steering gear box (but not in that order). What took care of it (for me) was a combination of the track bar, stabilizer, and the steering gear box (bout $600). It DID go away tho. Does your truck have the problems more loaded or unloaded? It may or may not help since mine was a gas burner AND simply a 1/2 ton, but the front end parts and setup are extremely similar (for the one's I've seen), just bigger...
Don't et rid of it yet, there may be an easier solution than you might think.

My 2006 Cummins (now totalled) had the death wobble like none other. It was only after i put the leveling kit on it that it started doing it. I put a steering stabilizer on it and switched sides of the block and to no avail. So then i took the shocks off and swicthed them too and that stopped it from doing that. Mine was so bad that it literally felt like the truck was gonna shake itself apart.

I WAS READING SOMEWHERE THAT THEY MAKE A BRACE THAT GOES BETWEEN THE STERING BOX AND THE FRAME THAT STOPS IT. BD MAKES IT. HERES WHAT IT SAYS...

The BD Steering Box Stabilizer kit for '94-'02 two- and four-wheel-drive trucks and '03-'08 four-wheel-drive Dodge heavy-duty trucks includes the steering box brace, mounting hardware, and greasable bearing assembly.
The SBS is available for '94-'02 two- and four-wheel-drive models, and '03-'08 four-wheel-drive Dodge trucks. At only $205, it's a worthwhile investment for your Ram's steering.
