I have a buddy that is really into the old jeeps. He said that for less than a year, they built the Jeep Go Devils (a old engine they put in them a while back) with a diesel option. This was back in the 20's, 30's or 40's. I have not been able to find one but it sounds pretty cool. The Go Devil is THE Jeep engine.

I misspelled the title. It should be Go Devil engine.

Not sure. You might want to post on our sister publication's forum, Jp. They're all about Jeeps:

i used to be a HUGE jeep enthusiast and the "go devil" engine was the 60hp gas engine that came in the very first proto types and MB's, sorry no diesel but the reason they called it "go devil" is because willys was one of three manufactures to submit a prototype to the us military and both the Bantam and Ford prototypes had only 40hp compared to the willys 60hp.
