I have an 03 GMC and it doesn't start after the engine has warmed up.  The duramax has extended crake but won't start.  When it's cold, it starts just fine.  Last July I took it in for the same problem and the dealer said the injectors were fine.  However, they did say I had a bad fuel injection pump.  That cost me over 1500 dollars.  Also I've changed fuel filters.

yeah after it warms up, I shut it off and when I try to restart, it will not fire.  I have to wait 45 to 60 minutes before it starts up.

like an idiot i let it run out of fuel a couple of times, but that was a few years ago and i didn't start having trouble until last year.  Would it take that long for the fuel pump to take a dump?

fuel pump could take a dump right after you fill it up or took it right out of the box and installed it.

I don't think it's the fuel pump.  It runs like a champ when running, meaning no loss in power upon acceleration like you'd get when starving for fuel.
