Hi Guys! I want to welcome all of you to this new forum. This forum was created as a place for diesel professionals to help each other troubleshoot issues, share their funny or frustrating stories, and increase the level of knowledge and professionalism among the diesel enthusiast community. I will be looking for a member to be a moderator for this specific forum, and to monitor activity and posting. Preferably someone with at least 3-5 years of experience as a professional diesel technician, whether on light, medium or heavy-duty diesels. The member chosen for this position will receive an official Diesel Power die-cut window decal. Please enjoy responsibly!

Yea! sounds real good there,s a lot of crazy things done without thinking and having to pay BIG bucks to get repairs done.Like pulling a heavy load with the program setting on high with out a EGT monitor and burning a hole in your down pipe then taking it to the dealer for wannanty work, because thier is exhaust comming out of the heater vent and didn,t even remove the programer OPS!or forgetting you don,t use starting fluid on eng.with glowplugs that you just had replaced.Just a cuple for laughs.

I NEED A MECHANICAL SERVICE MANUAL FOR A DETROIT DIESEL 638 ENGINE.  APPARENTLY, THIS ENGINE WAS ONLY USED DURING THE 1999-2000 PRODUCTION YEARS IN THE BERING LD 15 MEDIUM DUTY TRUCK.  HAVE LOOKED NUMEROUS PLACES BUT SO FAR NO LUCK.  ANYONE HAVE ANY SUGGESTIONS?
THANKS
