hey guys i know i havn't checked in for a while but i cant believe benny is at it again, really ben your embarrsing yourself by saying that you have to baby your truck in order for it to live, that the stupidest thing ive heard, if i buy a HEAVY DUTY diesil 4x4 i expect it to handle whatever HEAVY DUTY usage i want to give it i guess that why i drive an 04.5 dogde ram 5.9 cummins 600 instead of a wimpy duramax which has to be babied to live
My dream truck:78 chevrolet K30 crew cab longbed, srw with d60, 14 bolt, nv4500, np205 and a 600 series cummins 5.9 rolling on 37 inc tires!!! A solid axle chevy with a cummins, it just dosn't get better then this.
My real truck:  2004.5 Dogde Ram 3500 crew cab longbed 4x4, 5.9 cummins of course!  All stock sadly
Blowin smoke of course!!

Duramaxes don't have to be babied all the time.Hell they can beat a Cummins anyday of the week.I have seen it and it is funny every time. The Cummins has a real challenger instead of beating the *** out of the Powerstroke all the time.

In my opinion i think that if a truck cant handle pulling everyday and the occaisional heated driving session then its worthless.

Who the Hell pulls with their diesel everyday any way?! The average Joe only pulls once or twice a week and the GM frame is definiatly strong enough to handle that! The Duramax engine has plenty of power to get what you need done.

Oh so now a duramax truck can handle towing and heavy duty use?  Why don't you make up your mind becuase before you said if you baby the truck it will live a long time,  Why would i spend upwards of 25 grand on a heavy duty diesel truck and still have to baby it, cmon diesel trucks are big boy toys with no need to baby them unless your drinving an ifs, duramax truck!!!

Ok the IFS wasn't one of GM's finest ideas but it does give you a nice ride. Also it can handle just as much payload as the Dodge so what is the problem. You spend the 25k on a better truck there is a reason GM is higher it is because they have a better product.IF Dodge had prices like GM then nobody would by Dodge! Ever think of that?

Well fat cattle can't be cranked out everyday now can they! That takes time to get them fattened up.Still Duramax is the better choice even the Dodge Dealer said so. Unless you get the 6speed with the Cummins then it evens out.

I pull almost every other day, thats why i bought a diesel truck because its the only thing that can handle daily towing. A gas job would have rolled over and died.

why is everyone spendine $25k on a diesel? i got my 12 valve for $7500, and put about that much more into it. that makes $15k total. my dad has been towing for years with chevys and he said he is impressed with how my truck handles itself and whatever is coupled to it. i dont tow very often, but i wanted a truck that had power, but got good mileage, and was reliable for the 30k plus miles i put on a year. of course when i bought it, diesel was cheaper than gas so im eating my words a bit there, but after driving gassers my whole life and switching to diesel, you wont see any spark plugs under the hood of any truck i will ever buy. i dont care if i have to stay 5 years behind to afford them.

FS-2500 Bypass Filter. The only hands that work on my truck are my own.

hey black stroker i got my 97 stroker for 6,000 and like you put that much into it and love it never had it on a dyno but with the stage 2 injectors and the ts chip on 140hp setting the afe stage 2 intake and the stright piped exhaust, im guessing im making the same amount of power as an 08 6.4

I am looking for a 12v Cummins with the 6speed for a truck so I have something I can afford and still have decent trade in value. So I can trade it for my beloved Duramax or Cummins with 6speed not sure just yet.
