to GM its all about the bottom dollar the ifs is cheeper to build thus keeping profit margins higher...i recently read an article on a tire test and the 2500 hd chevy dmax climbing a small hill broke the front axle. sad I always raced chevy BB's but after a motor went at 82000 on a 99 suburban i had. I wont own another chevy unless its a clasic muscle car...

well maybe also offer the solid axle as an option on the 2500 hd's at least as something you can order from the manufacturer.
