I am about to close a deal on a brand new 3500 Silverado with a Duramax.  I will be towing a 5th wheel in Mexico a lot, as I live down there in winter.  I need to know if there are any issues burning Mexican diesel in this new low sulfur engine.  Can anybody help me?  Thanks.

I would recommend removing the DPF and cat if you plan on using Mexican diesel fuel. A good diesel performance shop in your area should be able to help you out, and do the necessary engine computer re-flashes or updates so it doesn't throw error codes.

esanchez,

Thanks for the reply. I think this is most helpful. I was considering not buying this truck if there was not a solution. Appreciate it.
