what is this i here i can take a ring off my turbo to make it louder sweet. how do i do it where is the ring located

I think it actually gives you a little more power, too.

The silencing ring is located on the intake side of the turbo, you can't miss it. Removing it will make your turbo louder but it won't give you any more power.

you have to work it with a flat screwdriver until it pops out. just dont stab your compressor wheel.
1996 Ram 2500 reg. cab longbox, #6 plate, 191 Deliver valves, 60 hp injectors, star wheel turned up a lot, AFE Stage 2 intake into a Phat Shaft 62 wastgate set at 40 psi, 4" straight pipe, Auto Meter Gauges, ATS tranny and TC (unfortunately), Dick Cepek FC-II A/T 265 LR16 (good tires). FS-2500 Bypass Filter. The only hands that work on my truck are my own.

i just removed mine and its loud as sh**, you can definetely hear the turbo spool up now, plus it did increase my boost actually by 2 psi to now 44 on the stock turbo under WOT. Makes the truck very loud and it sounds great at the same time

btw, i used a pair of screw drives and carefully worked the ring out of the groove and then took a pair of channel locks and pull the snap ring out and then simply reached in and pulled ring out and put the intake hos back on, dont put the snap ring back in as my buddy tried to do on his this afternoon.

thats wierd i removed mine and didnt hear a difference

is it the same thing for a 91 cummins?
91 Dodge Ram 350 Dually 4x4 12 valve cummins, bone stock except for a k & n air filter.
97 dodge ram 2500 extended cab long bed, bone stock
2006 dodge ram 2500 quad cab, short bed, 4x4, bone stock.

probably, it only takes a second to pull off the intake tube off the turbo and look, i know my second gen 12v had one.

i think it has one has well, not 100 percent sure, just pull the intake and you should see a smooth cone shaped ring that is held in by a snap ring

is the silencer ring in the air intake tube or on the front side of the turbo. i have a 06 cummins w/ a staight pipe banks six gun w/ power pda 2in level kit and 315/70r17 bfgs

its on the front/inlet side of the turbo itself
