That would be my 2000 F250 on page 170 of the May 2008 issue of DP. I just wan't to clarify one thing. When I turned in my tech card to the photographer I truthfully stated that my truck makes 341 HP to the rear wheels. My truck has also run a best of 15.11 @89.79mph @7275lbs that backs up those numbers. I'm happy with those numbers but I guess either the writer or the editor was not so they inflated them to 500 horsepower for the article. Even if it was the writer, the editor of the magazine should have known my modifications were'nt capable of those numbers. I've been on diesel forums since I bought the truck new in 2000, I'm known for quite a few things, but if there is one thing I'm NOT known for it's running around spouting off inflated horsepower numbers. I would rather the feature have never ran than for you to claim that I claimed 500 horsepower like you did in the feature. It's hard enough for the real diesel folks to flip through all the Banks and BullyDog garbage and now you're just pushing us away with bogus numbers. I think I will probably regret the 2 year subscription I just made last month.

If there is any way possible to to run an edit to the bogus claim please do so.

I know the editor didn't inflate the numbers, and I didn't catch it either (I'm the associate editor).  I did see a 7.3 recently put down 450+rwhp with a turbo and injector upgrade, so I know it's possible to get close to 500, especially if you're correcting for flywheel numbers, regardless, nice truck and sorry for the mis-speak on the power numbers.

1989 Dodge D250 "Project Rust Bucket" DDP4 injectors, 3200rpm spring, DDP Fuel Pin, Goerend Converter, J&H Performance 727 trans, BHAF, 4-inch exhaust 301/628. 9.6@73mph in the 1/8th

well doing the math saying you'll lose 26.4% of your power from the flywheel to the ground or add 35.87% from the ground to the flywheel

your truck should have 463hp at the flywheel not near 500 I was thinking around 325hp to 350hp (or maybe a little north of 350 depends on tuning) at the tires after reading the mods you have done to the truck

those numbers are if you have the 3.73 gear ratio

and you'll only see maybe at the most 400hp to 425hp to the ground with stock injectors which flow 140cc of fuel you can push so much fuel then you can't flow any more fuel than the injector will allow meaning that your power is limited to the amount of fuel you can burn

Let the good coal roll
Warning !!!! I have an opinion and I am not afraid to use it !!!!!!
