Hey everybody. I have an 06 Dodge 2500, auto trans with 52k miles thats leaking transmission fluid and has oil coming out the blowby tube. I'd post pics but I'm new here and haven't figured out how yet. Dodge is telling me the oil is normal and comparing my truck to another in the shop with 200K miles on it, and as for the transmission they say it isn't leaking in the shop so they can't do anything. Anybody else having these kinds of problems?

You can't post photos directly on our site, but you can host them through Photobucket or ImageShack. We've got plenty of Cummins pros on here, hopefully one of them will be able to give you some guidance.

i can tell you from the mechanic end that that does happen. ive had stuff in the shop that people complain about a problem but for the life of me i cant make it happen. for the blowby tube, it is likely that the engine is starting to actually see some wear so there is actually some combustion gas getting through. nothing to get concerned about. take an oil sample next time you change it. my 12 valve has 170k miles now it burns oil at startup and idle but i have never yet had to add any oil between changes.

1996 Ram 2500 reg. cab longbox, #6 plate, 191 Deliver valves, 60 hp injectors, star wheel turned up a lot, AFE Stage 2 intake into a Phat Shaft 62 wastgate set at 40 psi, 4" straight pipe, Auto Meter Gauges, ATS tranny and TC (unfortunately), Dick Cepek FC-II A/T 265 LR16 (good tires). FS-2500 Bypass Filter. The only hands that work on my truck are my own.

I figured on the tranny they could just change a seal or something, but the mechanics refuse to acknowledge the fluid under the truck (say it must have come from another vehicle). The blowby tube is leaking enough that I end up with a pool of oil a couple inches across over night. When I was at 30K miles one of the service guys at the dealer forgot to put the intake cover back over the filter, and part of the filter got sucked down. The techs said Cummins are so strong that its nothing to worry over. The turbo started sounding like a police siren after that, so I had it replaced. Not too long after that the oil leak started, then the transmission. I suspect they're all related, but don't know enough to know how or if its really serious and if I can make them fix it (still under warranty).
