Hey guys, for those into drag racing, the Scheid dragster (ahem, Cummins) has broken it's own record again by running a 7.09 at 195mph in the quarter.

Sights are set for 6s at 200.
For those wondering, 2nd quickest diesel goes to the Banks drag truck, a d-max, at 7.72@179mph.

Are they "spiking" the fuel with anything? I've heard the combustion speed of conventional diesel fuel is one of the limiting factors from diesels going faster. They just don't rev as high as gassers.

Has anybody heard anything more about the quad turbo 7.3L dragster that was in one of the dieselpower issues? I read that they were also shooting for 6 sec 1/4 mile times.

May 18th 2008 at Alabama International Dragway in Steele, Alabama. The Scheid Diesel Dragster ran a 6.931 second 1/4 mile at 193.00mph........... WOW!!!!
2007.5 Dodge Ram 3500 DRW 6.7L Cummins. Bone stock for now. Waiting till new add-ons have been on the market for awhile. And money, that would help too..

the quad turbo 7.3 i think is the one zane koch was building i havent heard much about it other then what i read in the mag.
1997 f-250 7.3 powerstroke. just another old truck making big power hahaha
my lug nuts need more torque then what your honda makes

im just glad to hear someone beat BANKS dmax. that makes me happy

Banks will be back with a dragster too. By the way ol Gale personally hung out at the TS race till the gates closed to see if Scheid would run a 6. It's all in good competition. Look for Zane's dragster (quad turbo powerstroke) and a few others (Keating Shelly) to be coming out this year.

Thats too bad hopefully though banks will come back with a dmax dragster and break some more records.

The new mag said ol' Banks toasted the pistons of his Duramax S-10. So much for "safe power". Sorry. I just don't like the guy or his products. I just get tired of blowing through page after page of his ads every month, in every magazine, tooting his own horn and bashing everyone elses product in favor of his overpriced junk.

They broke the 200mph barrier...I believe it went 203mph for thier fastest run so far...
