Super Duty with a CAT diesel?!? No way! What if?!?

So I keep getting pictures on my phone of a Ford Super Duty with CAT badging and i have also recieved emails about this from my friends and family. I cant help but wonder what if?

I think that it would be awesome to own a Ford with a CAT even if it did have a weak trans in it. Ford outta dump Powerstroke and get CAT between the fenders. I personally like the 6.4 but i think a CAT would be 1,000,000 times better than it and Ford would steal the market. Man, that just sounds sweet to say Ford and CAT in the same sentence.

What do the rest of you think?!? Lets hear it!

WELL IT COULD HAPPEN, WHY?? BECAUSE FORD HAS BEEN GETTING ALOT OF BAD PRESS OVER THE 6.0 and NOW THE 6.4 WENT FROM FLAMETHROWER, DIESEL-HOG, to BLOWING ENGINES!! HELL ALL FORD HAS GOING FOR IT NOW IS THE FRAME, INTERIOR, and THE LOOKS.

I think that Ford needs to start knockin on CATs door everyday and asking to put an Acert inbetween the fenders on the Super Duty. I would be the first one to the dealership if i heard Ford was actually doin this and i would be ordering one!

Though a Cat in the Super Duty's would be bad-assed, I've been hearing through the grape vine that Ford is working on developing it's own diesel engine in-house and that Navistar has already sought legal action because Ford's tentative release date (who knows when that is) is before the Ford/Navistar contract is up.

I think it would be in Ford's better interest to dump the Navistar/International Power Stroke engines and move on with anything, their own engine, Cat, Cummins, hell, even a Briggs & Stratton would be better! You ask 10 guys why they wouldn't buy a Ford Super Duty diesel truck and I'd bet 8 of them would reply "because their engines are schit". All you have to do is look at the Ford F-650 where you USED to have a choice of engines between the Power Stroke, the 5.9L Cummins and the 7.2L C-7 Cat. Guess which engine has been dropped from that line-up for 2008? The Cat is still there and the Cummins is now a 6.7L. Both are backed by a Allison 3000 (not 1000 like Chevy/GMC use) 6-speed auto. The Power Stroke isn't even in the ballgame any more. That should tell you something.

i know ill be trading in my truck if any of the above happens. but i was also reading somewhere that international/ navistar is going to GM. has anyone else heard of this. and if its true what is ben gonna do without his dmax. he will never get  a chance to own one.

I really dont think cat has any plans on entering the light truck market.

i still cant convince my best friend ford dosent own cummins

the dont own cummins. AT one point and time they owned quite a bit of stock n cummins but i dont think they do anymore.

international/navistar is not goin to gm but they did buy the kodiak/topkick line off of gm

ill buy a superduty if it have a cat in it till then ill keep my 7.3  


1997 f-250 7.3 powerstroke. just another old truck making big power hahaha
my lug nuts need more torque then what your honda makes

The latest I heard is the next-gen Ford diesel is code-named "Scorpion" and will be a 6.7L V8. Some are saying it's a completely in-house design, whereas some think Ford might have gotten some outside help. Most likely it's NOT a Navistar design. The whole Navistar/Ford relationship is all but over following the aftermath of warranty issues with the 6.0 Power Stroke.
