Now im a Ford man, but im the first to admit the Dodge sounds way way waaaaay better

i just love the deep rumble of the cummins engine.

I know the obvious difference in the engines one is an inline 6 and the other is a V8, but does that basic make up make that big a differeance in the sound?

im guessing it has something to do with piping and the exhaust and other factors.

Cause honestly im idea of a dream truck is the power and agility of a ford F250, and the powerful rumble of the dodge, instead of the swooshing turbos of the powerstroke

when the turbos really crank up it sounds good but i just like the dodge growl better.

anyway to get this through changing the exhaust? or is it just a factor of the motor and make up??

its the motor only way to get a powerstroke to rumble is to stright pipe the exhaust

i figured that, my cousin has a 2001 dodge and that thing sounds awesome, takes 2 mins to go from 0-60 but it can max out at about 130 ish...lol then he took it and straight piped it and it sounds ridiculous

i was thinking i could straight pipe it, ive heard a ford straight piped with cool flow exhuast (or something like that the guy told me) and it sounded *** awesome just the way i wanted it, the growl of the dodge with the swoosh of the ford...

i guess ill have to do more research

Fords have always seemed to have a more prominent "turbo whoosh" than the Cummins, whereas they have more of a big-rig exhaust note.
