With all the intrest in more power has any one really used their trucks off road? A stock truck used off road has more than enough power to spin the tires. Even with larger tires and the axles not re-geared for the taller tire the trucks proform well. I too have fallen for the more power craze. See my picture and profile. I have used my truck off road stock as well as re-powered. Is it better? Yes. The lockers made a obvious diffrence. Fords limited slip is very limited. Still, with too much throttle, I just dig ruts. Yes the truck goes faster but how fast can you really go off road. Do you really need 800 hp and 1500 ft lb of torque. With my simple set up I can send plenty of mud into the air. Lets keep it simple for the new people to the sport. You don't need to spend thousands of dollars to make your truck proform well? Am i nit picking? Probley. It just makes it harder for a new person to justify 20,000k in additions to make there new truck look and run as like some of the trucks in this magazine.
