Im relatively new here, ive been around diesles all of my life as far as in jobs and yeah ive driven all and im a ford man,
but one thing im not really sure on is there a big difference between the F250 v the F350, single wheel not the dually, i know the obviosu difference...lol
i mean like does the 350 come with bigger trans and engine normally or is it pretty much just the 250 with a 3, and some extra springs for higher payload?
the reason i ask is cause im looking into getting a diesel at the end of the yera hopefully and i want one with alot of power and if i can get the same in the f250 as i can the 350 im going that route
so whats the main difference?
thanks in advance

HI BigCorey75, WELCOME TO DIESEL POWER!!! THE F350 HAS THE EXTRA LEAF SPRING, THATS WHY IT WILL COST YOU ABOUT $500 DOLLARS MORE.

thats the only difference in the cost or anything???
what about the fuel economy and all that good stuff
im just pretty familari with 250's and driving the bigger fords the 550 and such, never drove a 350 for an extended period of time to really catch the feel of it
the 250 are like drving huge bmw's very quick and agile while the 550's are like driving tanks...lol tons of fun

HEY BIG COREY, AS LONG AS YOU HAVE A SINGLE REAR WHEEL, THE LEAF SPRING IS THE ONLY THING THAT THE F350 HAS OVER THE F250. YOU COULD SPEND THE EXTRA MONEY ON AIR BAGS FOR THE F250!!!

im not sure exactly what years span you are looking at corey but if you are lookng into the superduty era 99-present. not only do the 350's have extra spring in the spring packs they also come with overload spring from the factory where a lot of the 250's did not. and the ride height is a little higher as well on the 350's. but i agree with gunman go with the f-250 and stick some airbags under it. not only does it look really cool it makes a world of difference in ride comfort.

its the roughest riding vehicle ive ever ridden in. it takes some skill to get the tires to stand up straight. the alignment is never right, it always pulls to one side. they eat ball joints and u joints too. but my 96 is the best vehicle ive ever owned hands down

so basically what im getting is look for an f250 4x4, with a big engine and tranny and i can get all the power i want, along with the height of the 4x4, cause im not overly concernd with payload, not like ima be pulling weight with the truck, its mainly for power and pure cruising bonuses, i love diesels
its why ima just wait till i can afford one, then i might throw me some air bags on there for improved ride

what do you plan on doing with your truck making a hot rod out of it?
1994 to 2000 powerstrokes have forged rods
2001 and up powerstrokes have PMRs
forged rods can handle 600hp where as PMR can handle 400hp
Let the good coal roll Warning !!!! I have an opinion and I am not afraid to use it !!!!!!

ive got the dana 60 in mine. its a weird deal with my truck, it has an 8800lb gvw so really its an f350. the f250s werent supposed to have an 8800 gvw until 1997, and mine was made in late 1995. so idk what is wrong with it. but it still has the independent in the front, and i added a leaf in the front to level it out and beef it for the snowplow. it rode rough before, but now it is really bad, lol. trust me, you dont want a 460 right now, i get about 6mpg unloaded
