Hello everyone. This is my first post here. I'm looking at an F-250 4-door, 4WD with the 8' bed. What kind of mileage can I expect on the highway, carrying nothing but four adults and luggage? Thank you in advance for your replies. Also, I am also considering the F-350 as well (same configuration).

Also, expect to get better mileage as the engine breaks in. Brand-new, you'll probably get in the 12-13 range. Once it gets about 20-30k miles on it, you might be looking at 15+.

I think FORD needs some one who actual knows how to tune the new 6.4 because I know the those piezo injector that 6.4 can get 20+ MPG

I think ford was holding back alot more power on the table like 50 more at the crank easy

Let the good coal roll
Warning !!!! I have an opinion and I am not afraid to use it !!!!!!

I have a F-250 Crewcab 6.4, auto, 3.73 gears, weighs 10,098 with me sitting in it. It got from 9.2 to 12.0 mpg (all city driving) right off the lot (drove 150 miles @ 70 mph and got 16.2 with NO city driving).  As I learned how it was using the fuel, i modified how I drove, slow takeoffs and steady crusing.  I picked up about 1.5 mpg with the different driving so I was getting 11.5 to 13.3 mpg city.  Didn't notice much other improvement until just over 10,600 miles. City driving went to 12.6 to 14.4.  Just to check it out I did another trip of 150 miles but drove 66 mph.  The mileage kept constantly climing until 21.2 mpg.  If I had pulled off the interstate highway and did any city driving it would drop like a rock but with the constant crusing @ 66mph it was as stated.  Made the same trip 2 weeks later @ 90 mph and the mileage was 13.4 mpg.  I just paid $3.82 per gallon yesterday and I will probably be feather footing it to get the good mileage except when I get that acceleration urge.  Wish I had gotten the Manual Transmission as that would have probably given me another 1.5 to 2.0 mpg.  Hope this helps with your decision.  I love the truck...drove the Dodge, the Toyota (Gas) and the Duramax.  The Dodge body felt like a Pet milk can and driveline made some funky flexplate noises from 3rd to 4th gear under accel (not driveshaft ping...definitely flexplate).  Like the Toyota but didn't want a Gas burner..it was definitely the quickest of the vehicles I drove.  Dash lookd cheap but liked the rest of it.  Had a friend who had troubles with pheriperal devices on his Chevy Truck after a few years.  Radiator, Alternator, charging system issues caused by a shorted switch...  It might be a great truck but you have to get what is best in YOUR experience.  My last truck was a 1997, F-250, Crewcab, 7.3, 5-speed, 4.10 gear.  I gave it to my son for his pool business.  It now has 235,000 and would jump in it and drive cross country. Now there was a great truck.  17 to 18 mpg around town and 19 to 20 highway at 70 mph.  Hope this helps with your decision process. I pay for one for 5 years and drive it for 10.  If I had to do it over again .. I might have bought a good used 2002, 7.3, 6 Speed.  Hard to find those now.  Good Luck!

i havent heard of any truck dodge ford or chevy that gets any mileage. all the emissions crap kills them. so  really all the emissions is  doing stepping on its feet as it walks . you are putting less crap into the air ok but on the other hand you are using up alot more natural reasources. I.E. oil. so its im not really seing the upside of all this new emissions crap.
