After 6 monthe of using my 2008 Ford F250 pulling a 12,000 lbs. 5th wheel trailer,on most trips average mileage is 13 mpg. at 65mph. I can't complain about power, it is my first truck used for recreation since having used motorhomes before. The increase in mpg from the MH (9-10) is much appreciated. Gas in NJ is 3.999 right now at Flying J a high volume truckstop so I know I'll be getting good diesel fuel. After 6 months mieage is at 4800 so going to dealer for first oil change ($100)Debating wether to go to syntetic oil. I picked two wheel drive because of higher towing capability. 8 foot deck was a must and all the other towing parts where in place on this truck. Had to visit about 8 different dealers before I found the right one. My only problem with this truck is to drive at the speed limit, cruise control is used most times. tow haul mode is used when going down 95 in Maryland for the hills. The only problem I can see so far is that tow haul mode sometimes stays in lower gear and rpm is at 2500. Any one else have had problems with the 2008 F250 transmission when towing?
