Haven't heard about that. I think it may be stemming from Kirk Kirkorian's major investment recently into Ford. Over the years, he's invested in all the Big 3, and was no fan of the DaimlerChrysler deal.
It could happen, but I don't see it happening right now. There are a lot of joint ventures between the Big 3. New Venture Gear is one of them. Who knows. 20 years ago, who could have predicted DaimlerChrysler?

cowboy from what i've read ,you can run JP8 but you need to add lubication to it. the motors in the humvves are made to run jp8. i think we all are looking for something else to put in our trucks but,do not want to cause damage to engine.

I would only run JP8 in IDI diesels, like the 6.2 or pre-Power Stroke Fords. It's a pretty crude fuel. Definitely DO NOT run it if you have an '06 or newer truck with emissions stuff on it.

What kind of stuff can I put in there to make it run better? It idled real low, rough, and I could tell I was losing horsepower pulling the horse trailer on the highway. I can get the JP8 for free, I have a fueler buddy who hooks all soldiers with oil burners up, as well as a mechnic that takes care of our motor oil needs. I think I will be switching to synthetic though, I've heard nothing but good about it.

cowboy as far as what to put in the JP8 for lube, no idea.
my guess would be an oil that will burn with JP8 and not leave behind deposits. as long as the high pressure pump and pistons are being lubed and fuel filter does not clog the engine should be fine. i would experiment with an old diesel engine if i had access to one. high prices are making me think of other fuels too. or maybe i need to work two jobs. who knows.

I dont know either. I mean, it seems a waste to have to watch unused JP8 diesel dumped away when I (in theory) can put it in my truck for fuel. The month I ran JP8, I was a rich man. Didnt have to pay for any fuel, leaving me with extra money. If anyone knows how to run JP8, let me know please. I GOTTA BUNCH OF IT!!!

Cool I checked it out. I guess if I run any type of additive (with lube) it should be ok. The site said that the fuel/water seperator on the cummins will not seperate the water that may be found in JP8, b/c JP8 and water does not seperate. This may be a concern. I will try it if my fueler buddy still hooks me up, and if it dosnt work I'll discontinue it. I think the cause of the fuel filter being clogged may have been due to mud...I ripped a hole in my fuel tank mudding and pumped mud into the filter, if I remember right, it was bout the same time I was running the JP8. I blamed it on the fuel until another one got clogged, so I investigated it and it was dirty as hell. I do know it caused a lower idle, rougher starts, and less hp, but maybe with the lube it will work??
