I gassed up on Monday and diesel was 4.98/g but surprising today when i went back to the same gas station three days after diesel was 5.25 per gallon who is controlling this prices. Its very frustrating since lots  of employers can not afford to match up salaries with increasing gas prices. I think manufacturers should do something to those that already own low gas millage vehicles.They should be something out there to keep me driving my truck...i don't care about power now all i want is to get to point A point to B. Doe any one feel this..ANY IDEAS AND NO BS>>  

I spent north of 20k in fuel last year  

I drive about 30 k per year, this is simply out of controll!!! I got a motorcycle two weeks ago just to get around on. The cost of the bike per month is less than a tank of fuel. I hate to say this but I may need to sell my truck. I heard that diesel might hit $7.00 this summer. It's well over $5.00 now. What the *** is going on here? The oil execs. told congrass that there is nothing they can do about the cost of fuel, yet some of them are making 12 million per year and showing record profits 1/4 after 1/4...  

there is no way it will hit $7, there is absolutely no reason why it is this high, to make another $2 by summer would be an absolute joke. i would love some one on one time with these big oil executive people. nothing a good ol ass woopin cant fix. plus it will make me feel better.

as far as solutions go, buy a tinyass car, or a motorcycle. there is no miracle cure that will make your truck get 30 mpg. sorry  

Some one needs to speak up. Soon next year we will not be talking diesel trucks might be something else. i have noticed too traffic is cutting down. What in the world is going on.Within one year gas has doubled.With all the love i have for my truck i think its soon going to be gone.  

most of the people who have any power are in the back pocket of the oil companies, so they wont say anything. the oil guys know that they cant be touched or forced to do anything so they have no reason to change. i love my truck as well, but i may have to park it and get a motorcycle or something. if i get the job i am shooting for, it will be 4 miles from home. city traffic and warm up time i will use a gallon a day. 30 gallons x $5.50 by summer = $165. not including the trip home and wherever i go, so i figure $300 a month. the next job is 11 miles away, so now im looking at more like $500 a month.
gas-$500, rent-$330, insurance-$200, food-$200. those are just the basics, all of a sudden i dont have any money left over.  

OK GUYS, THE ONLY WAY THE PRICE OF DIESEL IS GOING TO GO DOWN, IS IF THE LIBERAL DEMOCRACTS LET AMERICAN COMPANIES DRILL FOR OIL!!! WE HAVE TO BE ABLE TO REFINE THE OIL, AND BUILD MORE NUCLEAR REACTORS!!! WHY IS IT THAT EVERY NATION IN THE WORLD CAN DO THIS, BUT THE GOOD OLD USA CAN'T!!  

Well gunman I think you are right. At the same time it doesn't help that we have oil men in the white house, fighting wars over seas(using a lot of fuel) and exporting our oil. The people that have the power to make changes dont know what it's like to choose food or fuel, don't know what it is to do without the finer things in life like electric. Need I say more  

well i believe since oil companies are making record profits every day its time the govt stop giving them all there tax breaks when its $7 dollars a gallon you wont be able to sell your trucks if your going to it better be now. Sorry for the bad news mines nearly paid off and it would be a kick in the nuts to sell it cause the resale has dropped so much cause gas is so high nobody wants them anymore and next yr it will be even worse.  

On top of what the government is involved in the sorry thing is that i live in santa barbara where they mine oil and i can see the oil rigs from my house but instead of getting that break it gets high as days goes by. Some one told me the other day that a lot of oil companies do not  want to process diesel with less sulphur. (diesel #2)
The other myth is that china people are now getting to drive cars. Making the gas demand high. The question is how come diesel is getting popular all of a sudden. The manufacturers should let us instal bio diesel kits on still maintain our warranty or just make us a kit compatible with there needs. I feel sorry i can even sell my truck within one year it has already depreciated its value 20 grand. We have a lot of brains in here that can think and work a plan on how we can all keep our trucks. WE CAN DO IT IF WE PUT OUR MIND IN TO IT AND NOT DEPEND ON CRUDE OIL WHAT DO YOU THINK fellows....

i agree, all of better hope the dems don't win. they will raise taxes. and you think it is bad now. it is time we take care of our own in this country. we have our own oil
right here if we only get it out of the ground.

Due to th way laws were wrighten it makes closed door speculation oil futures an every day practice. What that means is that it is not supply and demand but greed that is driving up oil prices. The U.S.A.'s oil consumption has not gone up in the last five years. The global consumption has. However Wall St. is doing a fine job of proving just what suckers we are. The truth is that big oil can still make huge money at $60 a barrel. If we were able to refine the oil we have here it would make a big difference  

what ever happens around crude oil i think we as diesel drivers are lucky since we can use alternative fuel. As compared to gas run cars they can only run it with one fuel or pedal there cars.More brains are better than one we can vote and have manufacturers keep our warranty if we use alternate fuel. It is time to wake up and start thinking if our leaders can not think for us.
