I had a new starter installed 3 months ago. This past week a problem developed when starting. I turn the key and here a "click" (no Start). I can sometimes repeat this 4 or 5 times before it starts. I had the starter checked today and they found no problem with the starter and couldn't tell me what this could be. It doesn't happen all the time. Does anyone know what the problem could be? Please send a private message. Thank You.

I had an 02 Ford 7.3 and it had a bad spot on the flywheel. Nine times out of ten it shuts off at the same spot, right on the bad spot!!

hopefully this gets to you before you waste money on a starter. mine has countless starts on it in its 298,000 mile life. the usual suspects are the positive connection on the passenger side battery and the negative connection on the driver side battery. dont know why, but these are the 2 that most often loosen and cause the problem you're referring to, or a low-charge type sympton. 9 times out of 10, when repalcing the starter, you will inadvertently fix this problem.
