This is what i am predicting, diesel prises will go down by the year 2010. Reason is the market now is encouraging every one to buy hybrid cars, soon every one will be driving small cars with high gas mileage and who knows if they will introduce more hydrogen and electric cars. By then gas companies will be hurting and in return to keep making profit they will lower the gas prices or leave them where they are. I saw on the news today ford is coming out with a hydrogen operated vehicle.
Lets just keep our fingers crossed and see what tomorrow brings.  

I think you saw what happened in New Orleans when peoples everyday neccessities were no longer available. I fear that is what will happen across the U.S if fuel prices continue to rise out of the common mans reach. I remember after 911 Osama bin Laden said "We will destroy them from with in"  

Yeah, it's hard to know where to start. The oil companies, the government, consumers, OPEC, India & China. A little bit of all of those. Alternative fuel research has been going on since the 1940s, but it wasn't considered cost-effective enough when oil was just a few bucks a barrel.

We should have stepped it up then, and especially after the Oil Embargo of the '70s. But as soon as prices went back down, everyone went on their merry way with their same ol' habits. I hope if prices go down, everyone loses interest in alternative fuels and fuel economy.
