I'm pretty sure you can buy mechanical 6.5 crate motors. I think some of the earlier 6.5 non-turbo motors had mechanical injection. Anyone else know?

A 6.2 pump will work on a 6.5 motor. Depends on the year of 6.5? Most people that replace 6.2 engines are replacing them with a 6.5 but swapping over the old 6.2 fuel system and they run just fine.

Thanks guys I kind of thoughtit would bolt up but my concern would be the rate of fuel and timing issues.

There's 2 ways that i know will work. 1 is take your top plate off (where the cold advance plugs in), just under the plate you will see along hexagon nut, turn that (viewing from the front of the vehicle)toward the passenger side of the vehicle no more than 1/4 to 1/2 max each time. The second is the main fuel line going into the pump head, there is a allen head adjustment inside. Make 1 full turn, if you want more then that make only 1/2 turns until you reach a desired output.

No. The 6.5 block has a 4" bore. The 6.2 is 3.7/8" bore. The 6.5 heads are identified by the casting number (last 3) 567, you should see these numbers on the exhaust runner and when you remove the valve covers. The 6.2 last 3 casting numbers are 167, prior to all 90 models. The 6.5 heads also have a more shallow angle where the injectors mount. Only 6.5 fuel lines will work. You shouldn't try to mixed fuel lines here. The 6.5 fuel lines are shorter due to the less aggressive angles of the fuel injector.
