Well I can see that I am at the right place for help and info on this project. I have a 1981 Jeep J-10 PU, currently it has a Ford 360BB and a C-6 transmission. I could use any and all suggestion on what will make this project come to reality.

I would like to keep it as simple as possible (i don't want to change transmissions. Tire size will most likely be 44" or bigger. Also this truck isn't going to be in any car shows and won't be ripping down a drag strip so flash and flare aren't needed. Just functional.

Again, thank you for any input you can give on this subject.

Well I would sugg to use a GM 6.2 good mechanical diesel so you dont have to mess w/that much elec.
If I can find a donor 6.2 Id use it for my 79 cherokee but one hasnt come along YET!
There are some good article in the other mag sites like 4wheel and fourwheeler.com or jpmagazine.com.
