Hey I'm new to the forum and live in San Diego. Just wondering what kinds of jobs people do with their trucks to earn a few bucks either on the side or full time with their Diesel? I'm recently laid off and want to start towing some boats or other stuff.

Well, how much money you can make from it depends on how much you're willing to modify it. If you do a 5th-wheel hitch, you can do a lot of towing and hauling, whether it's horse trailers, cars, etc. If you're willing to do a flat-bed or dump bed conversion, that opens up other options, too. I'd say just do some homework in terms of what some of these jobs typically charge, and figure out which one pays the most bang-for-the-buck.
Also, you might want to get a business license. I know at least in LA, when I was doing some freelance writing, I didn't think anything of it, because I was getting paid straight-up with no deductions, and I still paid federal and state taxes, but would you believe it the city came after me! They claimed I was operating a business illegally in the city. I couldn't believe it! But for something like that, it'll probably save you a lot of headache in the long-run if you just get a business license up-front.

not a bad truck, its valued at 11k according to nada and kelly blue book so offer somthing close to that and see what you get. but i wouldnot pay the 16k asking price, 14k is still a little high considering values are plummeting by the day

Yeah, mileage is a little on the high side, but if it's been well-maintained, you could probably get a few more good miles out of it. Personally, I'd go with something with less than 150k miles on it.
