Your right I bash the 6.0 and I have never owned one, but I have owned a 6.9 and two 7.3's. And I have friends that have 6.0. I'll give you a couple examples. One guy has 360,000 kilometers on his 6.0 and blew off a IC tube once so he can honestly say he has a no problem 6.0. Now another 6.0 friend loves his Ford says it's the best truck he's owned. It's 2005 F-550 he pulls around a mini excavator and a Bobcat he's had the motor out twice for seal problems, all the injectors have been replaced at least once and the A/T has been out seven... yes! seven times! The last example is a 2007 F-450, trans out once, 6 injectors replaced at $1000 CDN each. Sure it's covered by warranty but what are you going to do when the warranty is up? This F-450 guy had a Chev and Dodge before the Ford he had so many problems with the 2006 Chev he gave it back to the dealership. I asked him what he thought of the 2002 3500 Dodge he said it was back to dealership twice before the warranty was up, a lift pump and a broken console hindge. I agree with you on the Fords looks up to 07 but that 08 grill is butt-ugly. The new Chev looks good as long as you get the color match front bumper and the Dodge is a great lookin truck!... and they haven't rattled since 1994.

Everyone has friends with problems. I've got one with a dodge mega ugly cab that has got the engine all torn apart right now because it blew apart. Another buddy with a chev that earlier this year has his engine getting fixed. So every maker has issues. It's just funny to me how people, Especially the lowly dodge lovers try to take shots at ford when they have just an engine.

It almost brings a tear to my eye to hear you powerjoke guys cry about your underpowered, ugly, stiff riding trucks. Give me a Dodge/Cummins any day over a Ferd...and I'm a GM guy! Your right they all have some problems, but we don't hear about as many as you Ford guys. Sorry to hurt your feelings.

You hear more discussion about ford's because they sell more trucks. And the only ones ever talking about it are dodgy and chebby guys.I belong to a ford forum, not many problems these days. I'll give ya 03 as a bad year yes but not anymore. Underpowered? stock vs. stock or equal mods ford will always beat a dodgy, gm, probably close, Ugly, have you never seen a dodge, or that new smirk on the gm, what is that besides trying to steal from fords design yet messing it up. Stiff riding, Dodgy's are like riding in a paint shaker and no one can argue that, Gm products, yes pretty smooth but that front end will fall apart on a gravel road.

Yup, BigJohn is right!!! Also check your stats on the best selling BS cuz that ain't true anymore.   I'm not a hater...I like all diesels, but the powerstroke is at the bottem of the list. And yes that is behind my Isuzu/D-Max, Cat, Cummins, Benz and VW.  I know I missed some, but you get the point.

Navistar International Corp. said today it will idle 1,200 employees in Indianapolis by tomorrow and shut down its plant here in a contract dispute with Ford Motor Co.Navistar is suspending production of its Power Stroke diesel engine that it builds for Ford, saying the automaker has stopped honoring terms of an agreement.The Power Stroke engine also is made at a plant in Huntsville, Ala., but that facility will stay open because it also makes engines for other customers. A Navistar spokesman declined to say when the down time might end or whether it could turn into permanent job cuts.Navistar's principal operating company, International Truck and Engine Corp., has been the exclusive supplier for Ford's heavy duty pickup trucks since 1979.Navistar idled more than 400 of its 1,100 employees in Indianapolis last fall because of slow sales of Ford F-series trucks.

Maybe International/Navistar will drop Ford and that CAT deal will heat up with ford. Maybe??? I would sell my Cummins in less than a heart beat.

So far, i haven't read anything about SOUND on any forum!!!........All these engines are great and will do more than what 90% of the people bought them to do.  AS for Sound,  An inline 6 just sounds better!!!  It's what you think of when you hear the word Diesel!!  The V8's just sound wierd to me and don't have a very good exhaust tone!!  My Cummins has a turbo back 4" Volant exhaust and it sounds so much better than any PS or DMAX that ever heard!!!

Who's with me on this???

I think your really on your own on that one. If I wanted to hear a tractor I'd go to a farm. The ford and even the Gm sound better than the cummapart. With The dual turbo back exhaust you get into it and it sounds like a high performance loud gasser. Next.

I love to hear the the powerchoke guys talk about the problems with the duramax  and what a piece of junk it is when it took gm only 2 years to work out the majority of the problems of the  when ford stopped the production of the 6.0 cause it was always having problems and now they are about to lose their contract with navistar cause of all the money they are going to lose.

You wants a Diesel to sound like a gasser?????????   Dude!  "GAS IS WACK"!!!!

A diesel should sound like a diesel...I you want a V8 gas sound,  Buy a Gaser!!

I'll keep my I6 ***

^ agree v8 diesels sound horrible compared to a I6, look at the cat 3206 v8 sounds like *** compared to a cat c12,15, etc or any other I6 diesel

I love the sound of any diesel, it doesnt matter if it is a duramax or cummins they sound awsome under a load no matter which one it is they turn my head when i hear one. I don't understand where uneducated ford boys get off calling the cummins a cummapart usually the powerchoke is the first to do that
