Yeah, little difference in torque between a Duramax and 4-banger Toyota! That's what probably did the half-shaft in. You can wail on those 4-bangers all day, and because they don't make any torque, you're not going to hurt anything. But start putting 600+ lb./ft. of torque through a driveline, and things are bound to happen.

Yea it looks plain ugly sittin in the lot with the right wheel turned and the left wheel headed straight. I'm gonna buy a new suspension for it and make sure those half shafts are stronger.

It is so hard to say that any of the big 3 is the best. It just all depends on what you do with it. If you are the kind of person who has a camper or a large boat that you are going to take to the lake once or twice a month and use the truck mainley for driving up and down the road, I will admit that the Chevy rides a hell of alot smother than the Dodge or Ford. If you are going to be pulling around a 20,000 lb load everywhere you go, obviously Dodge is the better truck for that job. And for all of those other people who just love to go talk to the service guys at the shop about once a week, Than Ford is the truck for you.

Like I've said many times before, Chevy/GMC is great for the recreational user that has a toy hauler or boat and wants a comfy ride. But for a real workhorse, it's between the Ford or Dodge. I'd probably lean toward the Dodge, personally.

ya you hit that one right on the head didnt ya. you act like ford is the only truck out there that has ever had problems. there is not a truck on the road that doesnt have problems some have NONE some have few,and some have a LOT. they all hve there strong points and weak points. doesnt matter if its a ford, dodge, or GM. but i forgot you are the guy that gets 20 mpg pulling a fully loaded gooseneck. you trucks must have been touched by the hand of ***

I never said that Dodge or Chevy do not have problems. What I was saing is that Ford seems to have more problems than Dodge or Chevy. You can agree or disagree. It will not matter to me either way. Numbers don't lie and when you look at the number of Ford Powerstrokes that have been recalled and the number of Dodge Cummins and Chevy D-max that have been recalled. You would have to either be illiterate or in denial to not agree.

And furthermore, befor ford f*$%ed up and got rid of the 7.3, I was a die hard Ford fan. When we got stuck with a truck that we got stuck with a p.o.s that we could not afford to fix ($600 per injecter is BS) and Ford would not stand behind it, I lost all faith in Ford. I still beleave that thay make one of the strongest and most solid bodies out there, but, If you cant get that body to move down the road, what good is it?

And as far as the MPG we get out of the hauling truck, you can beleave what ever the hell you want, but, I know what we get out of that truck so I could not care less what you beleave.

im not denying at all there were a lot of 6.0s that were schit but it really wasnt fords problem it was INTERNATIONALS problem.being that it is there engine. actually FORDS part of the deal is probly with out a doubt the best platform available for a solid work truck. with the exception of the engine i agree 100% the 7.3 was better than the 6.0. CUMMINS has the engine dept. wrapped up and ALWAYS will.Atleast until these other engine builders start making I-6's ( i doubt it will happen but heres to keeping good faith) but its all good man just had to throw a little bash back at ya. im glad you are happy with your new rig.
