Im  a new owner of a 1999 ford f-250 7.3 power stroke v8 4x4 extended cab, automatic, turbo diesel it has a bully dog module and chip, 9 inch lift kit with 38 inch tires and a 5 1/2 down tube and and single straight pipe out, cold air intake, turbo boost gauge and egt gauge.,and brand new warn locking hubs i put in, it also has 210,000 miles on it. i recently had it tuned up at the dealership, oil change and fuel filter, I already fried the tranny the first week mudding it in the field and it now has a after  market tranny and torque converter and shift kit. im having some problems building boost and keeping it, it like builds up quick then just like quits.. It just spools up and then drops back down like the tranny feels like its gona fall out whn it does this.. My egt gauge is also reading high like in the ten-12x100 but it never gets n the red..it also gets crappy gas mileage,it also seems 2 spit and spuuter when i let off the gas untill it gets down 2 about 1,0000 rpms this truck seems 2 b fine when it gets 2 higher speeds though and man it does sound good 2. I really like this truck and hope i dont have any more major issues with it,, any help  would b appreciated,, thanks alot..

Boost leak some where check you exhaust from your manifolds to your turbo then from you intake to you engine. Also could be your wastegate.

it sounds to me like your turbo is surging you can get a wicked wheel for it for about $90 to keep your boost you could try unhooking your waste gate all you have to do is pull off that red vac line on the intake side of the turbo be sure to plug both ends of the line your oil is coming from your crank case vent if you pull off your intake you can see this i re routed mine down thrue the brake lines and down to the frame with a peace of garden hose

sounds to me like your turbo is surging you can buy a wicked wheel to fix this to keep your boost you might try unhooking your wast gate its the red vac line going to your turbo plug both ends and watch your boost don't get it above 35 psi the oil is coming from your crank case vent its located just after your air filter take off your intake and you will see it just pull it out and reroute it i ran mine down through the brake lines and down to the frame with a peace of garden hose
