no matter what truck (cummins, powerstoke, and duramax) stock for stock, they are all to close to say what is the best. it just comes down to what you preferences is. they all have there pros and cons. i havent been in any new power strokes, but i been in the chevy and duramaxes. to me, i like the way the dodge rides better than the chevy. i dont know about pullin but just me, i bleed cummins. so even if i was given a brand new chevy, i would take and trade it off for a cummins. it is your preference. there is you the best that you can get on the best engine.

I really dont care what anyone drives as long as they dont insult my ride. For all i care some guy with a Prius could get on tommoro and post, i wouldnt care as long as he didnt insult me, my friends and my ride. I have driven them all and believe me there is very little difference in them. The 6.4 (my older brothers truck) is powerful and spools quickly and LMM (my dads truck) it has lots of power as well and we use it to haul ass because its pretty quick for a stock pickup and my 6.7 I love of coarse because of its reliability and power and towing capabilities.... Its all a matter of opinion

maxxd_out: You guys are faggs ..... You want facts? Well how about the Duramax has 660lb/ft of torque out of the factory unlike the Cummins or powerchoke.
facts? lol heres some facts, at least my transmission doesnt eat 80 hp and gets destroyed by a 6.5l in an army humvee. at least my engine is built in the usa. at least the truck its put in has a solid axle and a frame that sits higher than six inches off the ground. its good to know that my truck doesnt look like it was designed by a drunk six year old. my truck was the best selling truck 29 years running, all you have to say at the end of the day is, d a m n its still a gay chevy...

I have been reading these forums for quite some time. I have been an auto enthusiast my entire life, and I am a Duramax fan. I love my truck. I do however appreciate all vehicles, and the work that true enthusiasts put into them. The power and the capabilities of any of the late model diesel trucks is staggering. Of course people are going to have their individual preferrances, and thats cool. However, I dont get what it is that anyone thinks they are going to accomplish by jumping on to a forum and e-bashing anyone elses preferrances or opinions. It doesnt make your case. Nor does posting like posting like an illiterate, autistic redneck. If you have an opinion or point to make, why not put a little thought into it and put together an intelligent statement? I have to say, these Duramax fan boys that I have seen on here lately, are the reason I have not posted before this. I love my truck, but I did not wish to give support to the people whos posts seem to suck my brain out my ear. Some people need to remember this phrase. "Better to remain silent, and be thought a fool, than to open your mouth and remove all doubt." Sorry for the negative nature of my first post here. I am just tired of the stupid *** I keep seeing, and would love to see less e-peen and maybe a little more oil burner cameraderie.

The Duramax/Allison combo is the best on the market. Have you ever seen inside of an Allison and how thick the parts are? Thats what makes the Duramax the best out there because its a powerful engine with a stout transmission behind it. The Dodge autos are no where near as strong because the thickness of the parts isnt anywhere near the Duramaxs.

Not to mention that the torsion bars in the front make it easier to lift the truck. Also with independent front suspension (IFS) you have a smoother ride than with a Dodge of Ford that use solid axels. Why do you think you see more Chevy vehicles on the road then ever? Its because people want a truck that rides smooth like a cadilac.

I agree. The IFS is stout anyways. We have three GMC work trucks where i work and they are all strong powerful trucks that work hard everyday with out complaint. The Dodge and Ford that we have are never used because they simply dont have the power.

Alright so we are going to get into a fact war. I am a GM diesel tech at the local GM dealer. I have seen first hand the inside of a good Allison transmission and a bad one too. The parts inside them and no bigger than any of the others, they are all about the saem size on the inside. I have seen the inside of a Ford auto and the gears inside one of those was alot bigger than the ones of the Allisons. Also the Allison 1000, which is what is in your trucks, is easily torn apart by a 6.5L gut less laughing stock of the diesel world detroit diesel. Thats sad. A Detroit has the quater of the hp and tq that a Duramax has. I have also torn apart a Duramax to change injectors, turbos, heads, intercoolers, cam shafts, manifolds, cp3s, fuel pumps, intakes, and many other things that GM has half assed put together. I can tell you right now that if any of those would have been on a Cummins it would have taken half the time and a third of the money that it doese with a V8 designed engine. I have also replace half shafts and idler and pitman arms some due to normal wear and tear and some of it being neglect. I have never seen a Dodge or Ford go pigeon towed when under power in a four wheel drive launch like at a sled pull track. Every truck has its pros and cons so you really cant say one is better than another they are all about equal and it all comes down to personal prefrence.

Thats what all Duramax non believers say. The Duramax still has the most power from the factory.
