So I called ATS regarding my turbo because I am wanting to get twins now.  I almost got rid of my 4000 thousand yesterday until I heard this from the sales associate.  I asked him if there is a compound they sell where I can keep my 4000 and use a 6000.  I told me that they are ACTUALLY IN THE PROCESS OF MAKING ONE.  He said this thing will deliver 90 POUNDS OF BOOST!!! This may be old news to everyone else but it VERY NEW to me.

Also, have an update on my truck.  Just bought some Buschwackers (spelling?) intercooler, injectors, and a extreme clutch kit for my automatic transmission.  Will keep you all updated.  I also, once I get this done, and going to the strip so I can see what she does in the 1/4 I am shooting for low 12 or high 11.  Wish me luck fella's

have you installed head studs and how much boost do you think your intercooler pipes and boots will hold i see that you put in a intercooler already what brand did you go with and how much did it drop your egts. that 90 pounds of boost is extremly high good luck trying to get any traction , do you think you might need ladder bars to help keep your rear end from hopping. I have read where you can actully bend your leaf springs without them leaving the line so hard just thought you might want to know if you have not thought about it. Let me know more about your truck and what modle it is. And did you have the factory pump in the tank if so how did you get around it or are just pulling though it. they said you could with a fass or air dog I was thinking about going with a air dog and what pressure are you running with it thanks for any infor you can give me and my buddy is thinking about switching from our in tank pumps there not in trouble yet put pressing the pedal to the floor it goes down to 5psi of pressure.  Its would be cheaper to be safe than sorry when we take out of injector pumps thanks

Thanks for the reply.   I don’t have the intercooler yet, I actually ordered it and it won’t be in till this week.  My boost right now is at 40lbs and my chips aren’t even all the way up yet, still have 100hp left on my DiabloSport.  I went with the Banks because they told me that they tested it with 80lbs of boost and it performed just fine.  Not only that it’s huge, and the piping is bigger and once I get up into the higher HP I can push more air and at a lot more velocity.  My Truck is also a 2007 Dodge Ram 5.9 it’s not even a year old yet, with this I have been safe guarding everything I can.  And it seems to do pretty well, actually drives SO MUCH better when I bought it brand new and I love it.  If you want to see it, check it out on my readers ride.

The twin setup I mentioned isn’t even out yet and by that time I am hoping to have my drive train completely redone (new rearend, axles, differentials, transfer cases, traction bars, etc…whatever it is that I need, haven’t researched any of that yet, other than the tranny).

And yes I am still running the factory pump, however I bought an airdog lift pump from Xtremediesel.com it was cheap and it comes with a lifetime warranty.  It also comes with the air and water seperator as well.  As far my pressure is concerned I am not for sure, bought the gauge for it this week as well and I will find out soon what it is pushing.  It has to be good though, the dog gone thing pumps 150GPH with a 150GPH filter, so yeah.

5 PSI is VERY LOW and that would be your next upgrade if I was you.  That’s one thing you do not want to go out because they are VERY expensive.  You’re starving the pump and it’s not getting the lubricity it needs from the fuel which is putting A LOT of stress on the internals.

What exactly do you have done to your truck????

have you checked to see if you need that many gallons per hour i dont think your factory cp3 can carry that much fuel if i was you  would call to see if it would lessen the life of it for beening able to push so for fuel cause what ever your injector pump dont use it will send back to the tank i was stacking pumps on mine it was suppose to be able to go inline with the factory lift pump and work fine but it blow the back pressure bandjo bolt which regulates what ever fuel and pressure your injector pump doesnt want and you can guess what happened it shut my truck down had to replace the pressure bolt and than it took out my factory lift pump i just happened to change to fuel filter and caught it in time not to have hurt my injector pump. Was going to go with a fass or airdog and was having trouble trying to find a way to elimate my factory in tank pump and keep my sending unit for my fuel gauge no one could really give me a staight answer in time before it needed it and went back with a factory one. genos garage sells a tube that one have to drill into the tank and then put the aftermarket pump on but really didnt want to go that way it will work for now cause i really dont drive it that much since i brought my yamaha warrior bike. Let me know which way you installed your airdog and i may try that

It will only pump so much fuel depending on how much I put my foot into it.  Also, if it pumped to much, I would think that it would throw a fuel rail pressure code or something.  I do know that when I talked to the sales reps they asked me what my intentions were with the pump and they recommended the 150GPH.  Also the liftpump isn't based on pressure buy HIGH VOLUME rather this in turn eliminates cavitation and stabilizing fuel flow and pressure to the entire system.

Cavitation is the rapid formation and collapse of vapor pockets in a flowing liquid in which this case being diesel.  This puts a lot of strain on pumps which is where the strain on the internals come from.

I don't know if you looked at it or not but the tubing on these things, is huge.  It's about an inch in diameter

does the 07 have the dpf emmions crap on them if they do have you thought about cutting all the crap off. I have heard they make kits to stop any check engine lights from coming on i just didnt remember if it was 07 or 08 that had it. there has been alot of guys on here i know with 08s that have took all of it off and said that they run alot better.

Mine has the 5.9 it's the 07.5 model so I don't have the emission sensors or anything.  As far as the lift pump goes, I think it's a completely new replacement.  I don't have the old one anymore I don't think, I could be wrong but I dunno.  I never though about that.  My spool up isn't to bad on the 4000, it's about .3 to .5 seconds slower but once she kicks in it absolutely launches my truck.  When I am going 60 and higher it's spools fast.  I raced a GTO last night 5.7liter (which I passed and got in front off, smothering in smoke) and we were going about 65 to 70 we both punched it and from 70 all the way to 100 miles an hour was unbelieveably fast, it was almost like the acceleration at the bottom end.  Not to mention I hit 41 boost pounds.  so yeah, as far as racing if you're on the highway, it's unbelievable, but unless you're doing boost launches, there is always gonna be turbo lag.  It's the nature of these beasts!! haha
