Hi guys im new to sledpulling and had a few questions. I have an 08 F-250 with a 6.4L with no mods except a True Flow intake. I read in the mag a few months ago that a new truck will take a few sled runs but a traction bars reqiured for a one pull a season or will the truck do just fine with the factory config? thanks Moyer

Personally, I wouldn't do a sled pull in a stocker. You definitely want to make sure you've got the best trans cooler you can get (even though the '08 SDs have a pretty good one from the factory, from what I've heard).
Traction bars are a good idea, because it's usually the "bounce" toward the end of the pull that does the trucks in. Trac bars will greatly reduce that tendency.

Stock trucks pull the sled great. The less mods on a truck less chance of breaking. Your truck was made to pull and is detuned from the factory. Fords do hop sometimes and if this happened just let off. Go have fun.
