Dang man that's weird, but if you are getting fuel the only thing that i can think of is not enough air or a compression problem, but then again if it was running fine before those are probably unlikely. Sorry about your problem but there's my uneducated guess at the cause

im a diesel tech for ford....and yes on the 7.3 cam sensors were a problem but one the 6.0 ive only replaced 1 that was bad....so its more and likley not that....u prolly have a oil leak on in high pressure oil system, it isnt goin to leak where you can see its an internal leak....and beings the injectors are fired off of the oil pressure the leak is not letting the injectors to get enough oil pressure to work so its not goin to start....we get them all the time with this problem and there wont be and codes or any symptoms before it happens....so i would take it to a dealer and let them take care of it cuz thats a big job....hope i helped good luck to ya....WES

Had the same problem with my 05 6 liter. Have them check the cam sensor. Mine happened to go out while i was driving the salesman back to the dealership after delivery. Took them a few hours to swap it out, and if you still have warrenty left, it will cover it.

well seeing as how ford is recalling 1997-2003 7.3 for the cam sensor i would say that it prolly is more then likely the cam sensor on your truck that has gone bad
1997 f-250 7.3 powerstroke. just another old truck making big power hahaha my lug nuts need more torque then what your honda makes

glad my truck has been relativley trouble free. the only think i've ever had to replace on my 7.3 is 2 injectors and a fuel pump... of course i have quite a bit of aftermarket stuff on it to help but still i'd say its been a good rig for me.

the cam sensor is probably one of the least likely causes espcially since you have no codes a bad cam sensor would cause a code on a 6.0. there are a few things that can cause a no start on a 6.0 you could have a lost base engine oil pressure, a high pressure oil leak, a bad HP oil pump, a IPR stuck open, and a few other things. but the bottom line is not just anyone can work on a 6.0 you cant diagnose it or fix it in you drive way or garage you have to take it to a dealer theres just no way to diagnose it with out a ford scan tool

Doug124,
I also have an 05 F250 Lariat,Fx4,CC, 6.0l PS. I had the same problem last summer on I37 outside of San Antonio while pulling a TT. The same symptoms.
Ford found the #1 injector damaged clogging the high pressure line. Ford had it for a whole day. Picked up the truck. The following morning the same problem. The tow truck driver told me to tell Ford that there is no pressure in the high pressure line. Taken to another Ford dealer. They claim they found a piece of the damaged injector in the high pressure line. Fixed.
I hope this helps. Good luck.

I'm having same problem with '06. Found that if I jack up the rear end, it will start. Diesel rebuild shop told me likely the high pressure oil pump.

Ford has a unanounced recall on the hp oil pump controle sending sencer .It puts out enough current as to not through a code but the hp oil pressure is not high enough to fire.I had this to happen to my 03.It would crank some times and sometimes it would not.Replaced the oil hp sending sencer and works fine now.But the only way to check out is with a Ford tester or if you have accsess to ford tec manuals it will give the values on all components to check with a good muiltmeter.A lot of components to trouble shoot .
