i have a 99 f350 and it has 182,000 miles on it and when i was out shining with some buddys my low battery light went on and the voltage went all the way down and my truck was still running. my gauges didnt work like my speedo and rpm gauge wouldnt work. also the OD light was flashing on and off and pretty much all the warning lights that the truck has were flashing. i pulled over and the truck shut off. a buddy of mine came and jumped me and it worked for a while but it started to do the same thing again once the battery was low again. something the other day was ticking in the fuse box and i looked at wat it was and it said the relay fuse. the truck is dead now so PLEASE TELL ME IF ALL THESE WEIRD THINGS IS BECAUSE OF A BAD ALTERNATER.

put a voltmeter on the battery when idling if it's less than about 13.9 volts and your alt belt is turning repl alternator.very common symptoms g.l.

wires could be rubbing, might be short circuiting the entire truck. but you might try replacing the battery, because if the battery is bad in the 1st place, you wont get it to charge
